We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When starting She Loves Hair Salon, I focused on a few key principles that I believe are crucial for long-term success. First and foremost, staying consistent is essential. Consistency in the quality of service, atmosphere, and customer experience helps build trust and loyalty with clients. Staying true to the brand is also important—maintaining a clear vision of what She Loves Hair Salon stands for creates a unique identity that resonates with customers and sets us apart in a competitive market.
Customer service plays a huge role in ensuring that clients not only return but also recommend us to others. It’s about creating a welcoming and positive environment where clients feel valued and heard. To keep improving, it’s essential to always be evaluating our practices and soliciting feedback. This helps us understand areas for improvement and stay aligned with what our clients want.
Lastly, making sure to have a great team and the right tools is key to maintaining quality and service. Whether it’s investing in training or high-quality products, setting up an environment where the team feels supported and equipped to do their best work is vital. These combined elements help ensure She Loves Hair Salon’s continued growth and success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets She Loves Hair Salon apart from others is our unwavering commitment to creating a personalized, high-quality experience for each client. We believe that hair care isn’t just about beauty—it’s about self-expression, confidence, and feeling like the best version of yourself when you walk out the door. That’s what makes us different. It’s the attention to detail, the time we take to listen to our clients’ needs, and the effort we put into every service that truly sets us apart.
I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built over the years—both with clients and with our amazing team. It’s incredibly rewarding to see people return not just for the great results, but because they feel like they’re part of our salon family. That connection is everything. I’m also excited about the growth we’ve seen and the opportunities ahead. We’re always innovating, whether it’s through new services, advanced training for our stylists, or upgrading our salon’s environment to ensure it’s the best place for clients and our team to thrive.
Getting to where I am today professionally definitely wasn’t easy. Building a business takes a lot of time, hard work, and resilience. There were moments of doubt, financial struggles, and learning experiences that forced me to stretch beyond my comfort zone. But each challenge taught me something valuable. I learned that perseverance and patience are key—success doesn’t happen overnight, and there will be setbacks. But it’s how you respond to those challenges that matters most.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of adaptability. The beauty industry is always changing—trends, technology, client expectations—and being open to change and staying ahead of the curve is crucial. Another lesson is the value of building a strong team. You can’t do it all alone. Finding and nurturing talented people who align with your vision is what helps elevate your business.
What I want the world to know about She Loves Hair Salon is that we’re more than just a place to get your hair done—we’re a community that celebrates individuality and embraces everyone who walks through our doors. We believe in empowering our clients to feel beautiful, confident, and at ease. And for me personally, the journey has been one of constant learning, growth, and love for the craft. Every setback has only made me more determined, and every victory has been shared with the team that makes it all possible.
I’m excited about the future and how we can continue to evolve and serve our clients even better. Through passion, consistency, and staying true to who we are, She Loves Hair Salon is a place where people not only come to get their hair done—they come to experience something special.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not much of a drinker, but my ideal day would include dining at a small local spot like Vietnamese Cafe, hanging out at Union Station or Happy Camper, and enjoying tea at Babe’s Tea Room. I’d catch a show at Mission Ballroom, go for a hike in Boulder, Colorado, and end the day with a leisurely stroll along Pearl Street Mall.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
shoutout to all the amazing friends and family who have helped support and encourage me to chase my dreams. I love some great podcasts, Thriving Stylist and Destroy The Hairdresser are my current favorite.
