We had the good fortune of connecting with Shalina Luna, HHP and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shalina, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We specialize in sustainability-driven projects such as natural building materials, active and passive energy systems and off-grid living; while striving to provide up to date education and resources for the ultimate experience in creating a sustainable lifestyle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I gave up a cooperate life and cooperate income in order to teach my daughters that there is so much more to this world. We strive everyday to build someone else’s dreams and to make others rich when our focus should be living one with the earth and becoming self sufficient and employed by mother nature. We strive to educate others that it is possible to build whatever we desire for our own sustainable future. It was a hard road to get where we are today and we still work daily at the life we choose and it is still rewarding us daily. We have learned to set up a time line and know that not everything happens immediately, allow yourself mistakes and allow yourself the ability and willingness to learn from them. We recently recorded a television show for Discovery TV’s DIY Network, “Building off the Grid,” while empowering my 18 year old daughter to build her own home we were also able to educate and show others that you can build from the ground up with your very own resources from the land in which you live.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend comes to visit often and we set an itinerary because there is so much to do in this amazing life we live. We take the trails and reach the most epic views, come down to find ourselves soaking in natural springs and end our evenings looking up at the milky way while sitting by a fire. We pick up food from local restaurants and the farmers market, ready to hit the road for a of hiking, rafting and camping.

I would like to thank my partner in life and business for all his contributions in not only making this business a success but also adding his own talents to the mix.
