We had the good fortune of connecting with Shane Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shane, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Integrity.

This word has always been an important part of who I am. As the years have past my ability to honor my own integrity and that of others has grown. I am challenged daily with innumerable opportunities to fail at this endeavor, but with the support of the great people that I surround myself with I am able to succeed more often than not.

My Wife and Daughter are the fuel that drives me. Influencing them in a positive way is the most important job that I will ever have!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My wife Aria and I are both real estate agents with EXIT Realty Mountain View. Together we are the shaneCOhomes Team and this is our mission.

I was never privileged to be coached directly by the great Lou Holtz, but I have nonetheless learned quite a bit from his coaching philosophies. My mission statement has its origins in this quote about what three questions we are all subconsciously asking when being provided a service. “Can I trust you, are you good at what you do, and do you care about me?”

Can I trust you?
We are always putting our faith in the people we have transactions with from the server at your favorite restaurant to the banker you let hold your money. It’s a question we do not even realize we are asking, but the answer is imperative to the way the world around us works. This is where my mission begins. I have spent my life working on growing my personal integrity, and trust. And it is the trust that my friends, neighbors and community drive me to continually improve on the second phase of the question.

Are you good at what you do?
The first question has been answered. Trust has been established. That trust has to be linked now to this second question. This is where I push myself to level up my competency, practicing my craft and surrounding myself with experts that can fill in the gaps and help me improve.

Do you care about me?
This one is about that feeling you get when the barista at your favorite coffee shop gives you that genuine bright smile, with a huge thank you attached! We want this the most of all three questions. I am truly heartfelt in my desire to provide care in my life for those around me. I am a people pleaser by nature, and this has been the one guiding light throughout my working life!

If I ever have the opportunity to serve you I pray that you will answer all three of these questions with a resounding YES! If for any reason you would not answer this way, tell me so. I never want to stop growing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here in Colorado Springs one of the first stops has to be for a beer! We are blessed with more spectacular breweries than you could possibly visit in a week, so we will start with Cerberus Brewing. Of course humans can’t live on beer alone so we will literally head down The Rabbit Hole, this is one of the absolute best places in town for great food, fun atmosphere and the best service around! After recovering from beers and a decadent dinner we will head to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to feed the giraffes and enjoy one of the coolest zoos ever! But don’t forget your water and comfortable shoes because this zoo is located right in the side of the mountain with views that you can’t find at any other zoo. We have only scratched the surface of great activities available. There is of course Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, the Switchbacks FC and some of the best distilleries in the world including Distillery 291 the winner of Whiskey Magazines “Icons of Whiskey America” craft producer of the year award.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been blessed with support and mentorship by so many in my life that it is hard to narrow down the list enough in order to give a shoutout to just one! Let’s begin with my Wife and business partner Aria. Her dedication and drive are always there to lift me up whenever I am stumbling. Next must be Brandy Brown the owner of EXIT Realty Mountain View and my business mentor. I can say without a doubt that my family would not be where we are now without her!
