We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon McNiece and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, what inspires you?
When my mind and my heart are open, I can find inspiration everywhere. Richard Feynman, a famous physicist, once said “everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.” I believe that’s true. Too often we have our blinders on and forget to appreciate how inspiring and magnificent the world around us truly is – and the human beings around us as well.

It’s easy to get callused to the world. It’s easy to get jaded. These days so much seems divisive and divided. It’s important to take a step back and recognize all the goodness around us.

Etymologically, to inspire is to breathe (see also: Aloha). So, the things that consistently fill me up with life/ breath/ presence include us fascinating, weird, cool, awkward human beings, and the vast world around us. I’m inspired by stories of strength in the face of adversity, and the quiet bravery it can sometimes take to keep going. Compassion. I’m inspired by nature in its complexity, simplicity, majesty, power, and beauty. The brain is endlessly fascinating to me. I’m inspired by people who hold big visions and see big possibilities, the non-traditional thinkers who view the world differently. I’m interested in the curious exploration of new ideas – growth, learning, and expansion. Food. History. Science. Film. I also really love finding inspiration in the creativity of the visual world and losing myself in gorgeous images – fashion, fine art, design, architecture, travel, street art, etc. Inspiration can be found anywhere if you just look for it.

Please tell us more about your practice. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others.

What sets LVL UP apart is that we are pioneering a niche as the first luxury holistic neuro-health transformation brand. We see ourselves as an evolution. Nobody else is approaching change the way we are, which is SUPER exciting. We are curating a new space at the intersection of neuroscience and personal development, and we are the absolute best at creating lasting outcomes for those seeking their highest Truth, Love, and Light. We recognize neuro-health as the next great frontier and the preeminent catalyst for deep personal expansion.

What you are most proud of or excited about?

I am really proud of the work that we do. Our top-tier experiences are crafted with care, attention, and love. We deliver high-touch, white-glove service and exquisite expertise for the successful Seekers who have done it all. Dynamic and bespoke, all aspects are highly-tailored, enabling people to feel profoundly heard, understood, and honored.

Honestly, I’m excited every day for the AMAZING clients I get to work with. My clients are fabulous human beings. I feel very fortunate.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

Getting to where we are today has been a journey, to say the least!

Charting a new course is never easy, but it’s totally worth it. Blazing a path other people can’t see is tricky. A lot of people are stuck in the myopic world of today and can’t see the futurist vision. And some people aren’t motivated to usher in real change because they’re getting reimbursed to stay stuck in dying dinosaur paradigms. We see our work as the bridge between Dorothy’s black and white Kansas to the vivid colorful world of Oz. We want people to wake up to color; we want to paint those possibilities. We want them to see change, and the brain, and wellbeing through a new lens. We have such a revolutionary vision that we want to share with the world.

What has been very helpful to me is connecting with other high-achieving people – driven, insightful peers. As an entrepreneur, building a community for yourself is important. Support is always welcome, and quality feedback is necessary for growth. My advice – find your tribe.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

Along the way, I’ve learned that large factory models and icy-cold clinical models are not my jam. I’ve learned to lean into trust. I’ve learned that everything is an iteration and that we do the best we can.

I’ve deepened my understanding that:
• Integrated brains are the cornerstone to integrated, happier lives.
• People and brains are intrinsically oriented toward healing and growth.
• People and brains are resilient and able to change for the better.
• Neuroplastic change is a beautiful, inevitable opportunity.
• Human connections equal neural connections.
• And I’ve come to a new appreciation for our connectedness. Every life we touch touches countless others.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

I believe in having fun and authenticity. I believe in balancing real-world wisdom with the depth of scholarship. I love to blend science and spirit, two domains commonly pitted against one another.

Part of my unique genius lies in connecting my clients with their limitless potential. My goal for every client I empower is a sustainable and fully actualized state of clarity, joy, and integrated well-being. I help my clients to tap into their inner transformational magic. They embody their true power and transcend old patterns forever. We optimize their brains and level up their lives so they can experience true freedom and true abundance to last a lifetime.

And I believe in making the world a better place. We do that by passing on our successes and by being the happiest, most fulfilled versions of ourselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What an awesome question!

Mmmm – Great food, great people, great spots – who could ask for anything more?
Shoutouts in Colorado Springs:
MacKenzie’s Chop House is a classic staple for date nights. Paravicinis in Old Colorado City is great fun when my out-of-town relatives visit. Shugas is a perennial favorite, and a newfound gem of mine is Loyal Coffee.

Colorado has such amazing natural beauty and incredible parks. If we had a week to explore, it’d be a lot of fun to take a road trip around the state! Rocky Mountain National Park, Maroon Bells, Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and of course endless hiking trails to discover everywhere. And the Rockies at Coors Field and downtown Aspen are some of my favorite vibes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves all the credit! My parents are amazing, warm-hearted, generous people. Their constant support, and encouragement are invaluable. My husband is a true partner and keeps me laughing every day. And I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love of my two amazing children.

And I can’t not mention my dogs, right? Coloradans love our dogs.
