We had the good fortune of connecting with Shira S and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shira, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
When we started Very Honest Reviews, we really just thought about sharing our passion of trying different types of foods and products and sharing them with the world. We wanted to have a page where people can look at our honest reviews on different things and get inspiration on what to buy for themselves from our page.

We do not have a strict budget, but we try to review a variety of different products that range in prices. We spend wisely and balance out how much we spend per week.

Although we do eat out a lot, as it is a part of this account, we are sure to balance this out by going on runs and walks to exercise and enjoy the fresh air.

We live by the value that honesty really is the best policy. We give nothing but our pure review on all the products/foods we try. We feel that this is very important to keep loyal customers and to really deliver the truth about what we think. Of course, everyone does have different opinions, but telling our audience what we think without any biases is really a principle that we value.

Our end goal would be to have a larger following base that continues to grow, to have an audience that regularly engages with the things that we try, and to impact peoples lives by giving them reviews on things they should go get and also the things they can pass on.

We pursued this creative career of being a food blogger and product reviewer purely because we love it and want to have an impact on other peoples lives. We genuinely enjoy doing our reviews and trying all sorts of new things. We also love spreading the things that we loved to other people, and warning them about the things that we did not like so much as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Very Honest Reviews began way back in 2018. We started this creative page as a way to express our passion and love for reviewing products, and to have our influence help people decide what they should get for themselves. It for sure has not been an easy ride. We did have to take a couple breaks on our account because life just got in the way sometimes, but we kept pursing and are so thankful to be where we are today. Our favorite coping techniques to battle the hardships of life, were going on runs/walks, listening to music, yoga, meditation, and eating. It has also been difficult to grow our account and get the word of our account out there, but we are slowly and steadily getting to a great place. Our brand has given us a way to express ourselves and share our passions with the world. We want the world to know, that our honest reviews are not only for us, but it’s also for them. We really hope to impact our audience by helping them find the things that they love and by having a safe space where they can engage in our reviews. We want everyone to know: keep going, even though life can be hard, just keep on going and find a way through, because at the end, things will turn out and everything will be worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are based in Los Angeles, California, so the first thing I would want to show my best friend, would be the beautiful sunrise. We would watch this sunrise and then go on a little bike by the beach. For breakfast, we would go to John O’ Groats and get their scones, pancakes, and breakfast tacos. During the day, I would take them to the Universal City Walk and Universal Studios. Universal Studios has such a pretty scenery and has a great view of the Hollywood sign near it. For lunch, we would have to stop by CAVA for the absolute best mediterranean food bowl! In the evening, we would have to stop by Palisades Garden Cafe for the best curly fries ever and for dinner we would go to UOVO Pasta. We would then walk a little on the third street promenade (near by UOVO) and we would end off the night by going to Diddy Riese for dessert.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my friends and family for supporting me through this journey with this account, and the years to come with it.
