We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Mcclellan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Originally when I thought about starting The Rockabilly Vixens it was a way to find like minded woman who want to see positive impact in their communities. I did not realize there where so many that were like me that hid their love for vintage, rockabilly and unique styles because they didn’t want to draw attention to themselves. After starting we learned very early on that we stood out in our style in turn causing more interactions with people wanting to know what we are about.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Rockabilly Vixens are a group of women that have come together to not only uplift each other but also anyone in our communities that need it. We all have a unique love for the styles of eras before and recognize a need for self love that spreads through everything we touch. In a world that beats us down we found a way to bring others up by being ourselves and loving our unique qualities. We have watched the positive metal attitudes we are working on for ourselves become contagious and feel we owe it to our world to spread this everywhere we can.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Rockabilly Vixens are lucky to have so many amazing places we gather. With women stretching from Denver all the way North into Wyoming we can cover most of the state of Colorado with positivity. We enjoy days volunteering on the City Park Trolley in Fort Collins or helping the Period Pantry Project at the Food Bank making life a little less stressful for women in need. You can truly find these ladies all over CO as they find the Rocky Mountain Region is so full of opportunities to spread positivity and give support.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We are made up of women who are here to empower, uplift and lead anyone wanting to spread positive impact into their communities. There are many ladies who have dedicated themselves to making smiles a gift to give everyone around them. Watching other clubs like The Colorado Pinup Club and The East Coast Rescue Vixens made us want to push harder to offer everything from empowered contest for women to community volunteering and outreach.
