We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Amaduzzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I love what I do and that push me to give 110% on any picture I take. I love to look things from a different perspective

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work for the most prestigious nature and wildlife magazine and I love it.

Is it easy? Of course not, because like any other job you get tired at the end of the day, but knowing that million of people would love to be in my position and overall knowing that no matter what will happen I will come back from that expedition with something unique (photography and experience wise), gives me the strength to push myself over the limit. Is it easy? Absolutely not. Today competition is getting higher and higher but I like challenges so I’m not afraid about that.

How did you overcome the challenges? I think outside the box. People use to get to places and photograph what they see. Today everybody is a photographer due to cellphones so the only way to overcome the challenges is to try to find what you don’t see at the first sight. Find the corner, the angle that other people didn’t find. Use lenses that people don’t have. Use skills that other people didn’t use nor studied.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is never give up. I know, it sounds like a cheap quote but it’s so true. Hundreds door slammed into the face, thousand of no but the few YES have a gigantic value. If I am where I am is because I never listened to the NO and I kept working hard, investing in self confidence, equipment, knowledge and kept looking in a way that nobody looked. I’m from Italy and often people don’t take me seriously because of my accent or the way I move my hands or I talk: I would like the world to recognize my works more than my face/hands/language. I would love one day to be known for this or that picture because it gave you all an emotion and told you a story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is a little bit “weird”like me: He loves Disney so I would definitely bring Him to Disneyworld for few days but he is also a nature lover and our plan, one day, is to rent an RV with our wives and drive to Rocky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas to visit some National Parks that He never had the chance to visit (He is from Italy). He is vegetarian so I’ll have some good bbq just for me…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe that every single person who listened to me, who supported me and who helped me to be who I am today deserve a shoutout. Every customer who purchased my art, my mentors, every person who followed me into my expeditions and adventures…
