We had the good fortune of connecting with skyler brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi skyler, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Animal welfare is my biggest passion. For ethical reasons, my partner and I practice a plant-based lifestyle. In 2018 we fostered 3 kittens through our county Humane Society. To date, we’ve fostered over 150 kittens/cats with no plans to quit. Fostering has brought so much joy (and some hard truths and heartache) so 5% of every wedding package goes directly into a fund that we use at the end of the year to buy food, treats, litter, toys, etc for the shelter pets.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am creative through and through, so the business side of photography was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to learn. TAXES. Wow. no one ever prepared me for self-employed taxes… But on the other side of that coin, the psychology of business.
How to set professional boundaries with other vendors, how to stand up for yourself and your brand. HOW TO SAY NO.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I credit a lot of my success on the support system of my friends and partner. Without them pulling me back from the breaking point over the years, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
