We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonny Ishmael Roth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sonny, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.”

― John Wooden

This quote has been positive for my daily life in the way of personal accountability, responsibility, daily habits, attitude, and how I react to my environment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My goal is to tattoo in a way that wont disappoint my client for the life of the design. Im excited and privileged to come to work every day. I got to where I am today with the help of my family, peers, and clients. Everything is easy depending on your perspective and attitude. The most important lesson that I have learned is that every detail matters.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Mountains/parks Cliff Dwellings
Penny Arcade
Old Colorado City History Museum
La Bella Vita
Salsa Latina
Ephemera
Slice 420
Shrunken Head Tiki Lounge
Shame and Regret
The Place
Your Moms House
I always try to recommend visiting restaurants, bars, and destinations unique to the area you’re visiting, even if its a busy tourist spot.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My girlfriend, mother, close friends, clients and all of the tattooers I have had the opportunity to get tattooed by and work with.
