Meet Stacy Davis

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Coming from a corporate environment I wanted to extend my reach to those who were experiencing physical pain their lives and yet were not comfortable in a big-gym environment. In addition I wanted to expand my creativity into the community and not be held back from hitting the glass-ceiling. I knew I had something special in the fitness industry to offer. My interpersonal skills mixed in with an innate desire for continuous learning allowed to start my own business, Restore Fitness. I wanted a comfortable environment, affordability and a personalized experienced for all those willing to trust me in their health and fitness journey.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of a business I started from scratch that as sustained momentum through the initial years, the COVID pandemic and up to this point. I specifically named the business, Restore Fitness, to highlight one’s ability to restore their health, healing and belief in oneself through fitness. There is always room to restore fitness abilities no matter the age or limitations.
The road to get here as not been easy. There were business questions and aspects I never thought to ask or address. It is through my constant drive to learn and be better that I have become more business savvy. Without community resources and opportunities to connect with other like-minded professionals I would not be as successful I am.
My story starts with a career I was not necessarily pursuing. It evolved into understanding business plans, marketing and all other business items within my first couple of years as a trainer. Everything from a training and personal standpoint changed in the fall of 2017 when I fractured my low back. Simply standing to brush my teeth came with excruciating pain. Every roll to the side in bed was excruciating. Yet, I still pushed on and worked and got better at my craft. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that physical pain can be a resource to a life of gratitude. Gratitude for the small things in a day changes my mindset, my attitude and physical body.
Since that one moment on a August day I see the world differently. When it comes down to it, any movement is better than zero. Every day is an opportunity to stand, sit and move a little better than yesterday. When a bunch of these days are strung together the pain slowly subsides to where I don’t think of it every minute of every day. This is what I want for my clients. Quality of life with as a little pain as possible is what I strive to give to each client that comes my way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would certainly show them the Denver Botanic Gardens (both Downtown and Chatfield). Absolutely stunning environments filled with colorful flowers and gardens. Red Rocks is also a magnificent venue to visit. I would also take a week-long trip to the Rocky Mountains and hike the trails.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize Jaime Smith, a former colleague and personal trainer, who mentored me through my first couple of years in the industry. Without his guidance and care I would not be where I am today. I would also like to recognize my parents who have supported me from day one. They have always seen my potential and pushed me to be better.
