Meet Stacy Flaherty | Integrative Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Flaherty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacy, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Compassion is the core of who I am and how I interact with the world. It’s the value that profoundly shapes every decision and connection I make.
I believe in listening deeply and without judgment, always ready to offer support. My life is also anchored in a continuous practice of gratitude, and I prioritize patience and forgiveness, not only for others but, importantly, for myself.
My aim is to navigate life with ease and grace, and I find immense joy in empowering others to discover that same sense of fluidity and balance in their own lives. For me, compassion is truly empathy in action, and it forms the very foundation for our holistic well-being.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Carbon Valley Integrative Therapies we offer a unique blend of services designed to support your complete well-being. We bring together a diverse range of Integrative Massage Therapy, Guided PEMF Therapy, Reiki, Contemporary Pilates, and Yomassage all under one roof.
What truly sets us apart is our commitment to personalized care. I believe in treating every individual with the same level of care, respect, and compassion I extend to my own loved ones. My approach is simple: I listen deeply to understand your unique needs and then craft a blend of therapies that truly resonates with your body and spirit. This is more than just a business; it’s my story.
I am a perpetual student, and my passion for understanding the human body and its healing potential ignited in childhood. This drive to learn has been the cornerstone of my journey.
My formal education began at Colorado State University, where I delved into Health and Exercise Science. In 2004, I graduated from Boulder College of Massage Therapy, gaining expertise in Integrative Massage Therapy. But my toolkit extends far beyond massage. Driven by a strong desire to understand movement, I trained in New York under Elyse McNergney at IM=X Pilates and with Merrithew STOTT PILATES.
As I grew both as a business owner and an individual over the years, I yearned to explore deeper connections and modalities that fostered a more profound body-mind-soul connection. This led me to become a Usui Reiki Master, allowing me to channel universal energy for deep relaxation and inner balance. To further enhance the holistic experience, I also offer Yomassage, a truly rejuvenating mind-body experience where restorative stretches, mindfulness meditation, and therapeutic touch beautifully intertwine.
One of the most exciting new developments at Carbon Valley Integrative Therapies is the upcoming addition of Gracie, our Certified Pet Therapy dog. We’re thrilled to extend our services beyond our facility, bringing the profound comfort and healing power of animal companionship to Memory Care Facilities, Hospice Organizations, and Reading Programs at Libraries. Gracie will also be available for incredibly special end-of-life Reiki visits, offering solace and peace during sensitive times.
As a healer, the biggest challenge I’ve had to face and overcome is the art of taking time for myself. It was difficult to learn to say, “I’m sorry, I’m not available that day.” In my heart, I want to help everyone, but I’ve had to remember that I’m human too. There was a period in my career where I would often work six or seven days a week, seeing six to eight clients a day. I realized I simply can’t help heal others when my own cup is half empty. I’ve learned that I absolutely need two days off a week for myself, for my family, and for my mini slew of animals. This balance is crucial for me to continue offering the best care to my clients.
What I want the world to know about Carbon Valley Integrative Therapies and my brand is that it’s built on a foundation of deep care, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to empower your well-being. We’re here to help you find your unique path to healing and balance, now with even more ways to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d whisk them away on an unforgettable tour of Northern Colorado, with a definite highlight on my amazing hometown, Fort Collins! I’m a little biased, but I truly believe it’s the absolute best.
We’d kick off our Fort Collins experience with an absolute must-do breakfast at Silver Grill Cafe in downtown. Seriously, anything on their menu is to die for! Just be sure to get there early, or we’ll face a bit of a wait. After fueling up, we’d spend the morning exploring the multitude of super cool shops downtown, Browse everything from unique boutiques to local artisan crafts.
For an evening activity that’s truly classic, a movie at the Holiday Twin Drive-In theater in Fort Collins is a must-stop. There’s nothing quite like watching a film under the stars.
Next on our itinerary would be a trip up to Estes Park, the charming gateway to the majestic Rocky Mountains. We’d absolutely have to go hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, soaking in the incredible scenery. Beyond the trails, we’d enjoy some unique shopping in Estes Park, and of course, no visit is complete without grabbing some delicious taffy! For a bit more fun, we could also explore the town’s unique shops, take a ride on the Estes Park Aerial Tramway for stunning views, or even try mini-golf.
On our way back from Estes Park, we might make a stop at the Chapel on the Rock in Allenspark, a truly serene and picturesque spot nestled in the mountains.
Fort Collins does have a magnetic charm so strong, we often joke the real curse is: you’ll never want to leave! It’s a place that genuinely sticks with you.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to a few important forces in my life.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to Matt, the love of my life. He has been an incredible source of support through all the ups, downs, and in-betweens of both my personal journey and my business endeavors. His level-headed approach and unwavering presence have been invaluable.
I’m also incredibly appreciative of each and every one of my clients who crosses my path. Each of them has a unique story, and I am truly honored that they choose to spend a small amount of their busy lives with me. Their trust and willingness to share are a constant source of inspiration.
