We had the good fortune of connecting with Stela Djuric and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stela, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My whole life I was the happiest when I made something with my own hands. Painting, photography, making ornaments, gifts, whatever I was able to make and what I wanted to make I did it. When I moved to the Vail valley, I figured there is so many weddings, event here, at first I wanted to do flowers and decorations for those events, that was always my dream job. I gave up as soon as I figured that there is already a lot of companies doing that so I figured out that I need something more creative and interesting that every event need.
So I decided to do gift baskets with Colorado made products. That is where my company name came from- CoCO(Colorado Companies) baskets.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I moved to Vail valley I have visited Sunday’s Farmers market in Vail. I saw so many local products and knowing how many weddings, corporate events has in the valley, I wanted to make something special. So I have decided to make gift baskets with all local(Colorado) products and that is the way how can I also support all local businesses.
Modern, personalized gift baskets, made with love.
Weddings, corporate and event gift baskets.
Real estate baskets, welcome baskets, thank you baskets, any kind baskets.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Vail Valley, there is so many good restaurants and few of my favorites are Sweet Basil and Elway’s steakhouse. I always like to take my friends to a nice walk, mountain view and fresh air is always the best choice.
One of our must to is Hot springs in Glenwood Springs, especially in Winter time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely my lovely husband who was pushing me and telling me that I can do it, even when it was really hard. I don’t think I would be able to start everything without him.
