We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Lehman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Today I will do what others won’t so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.” -Jerry Rice When I first heard this quote, I was standing in the gym trying to decide if I should continue with the CrossFit plan I’d been working on for a few months at that point. I was on the verge of giving up. And when I saw this simple quote, I thought “If there’s one thing that can keep me here, it’s knowing that I’ll have an ability and strength and I wouldn’t have if I stop.” I feel the same way about my growing business. It’s hard to give up evenings or Netflix binge time, but ultimately what I do today will affect tomorrow. I want to work on my business, even when it’s tough, so that I can build it to a success level and profitability that I otherwise wouldn’t have. I’m doing all of this for my future self.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently work full time as a marketing coordinator, and I have learned many lessons about working in a corporate setting. I work with a team of six other professionals, who are all fantastic to work with. I think what sets me apart in my career and my industry is the passion I have for so many other things outside of the workplace. I realize this sounds counterintuitive, but having several different hobbies and interests and ventures outside my office, I feel, gives me a great perspective on the outside world and makes me a better marketer. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s a great brewery in my hometown called Gearhouse Brewing. If you’re visiting Chambersburg, you must stop by. Also, our town, though small, has been adding a lot of great new business to our downtown area— from the mid-century home decor and plant store to the pastry shop with a donation-based business model. Oh, and we have a great farmers market on the weekend Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank my husband Cyrus. He paved the way of small business ownership in our family, and has supported me every step of the way in my own endeavors! My friend Paige— the shop owner of Stitches by Paige— also deserves a shout out for being so supportive of me starting my own shop and giving me advice along the way.
