We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Guan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sydney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Blissful Media Marketing with cannabis and smaller businesses in mind. There are a ton of ways to get your brand out there, unfortunately, most business owners don’t have the time it really takes to invest in these key aspects of marketing. My goal is to give small business owners the chance to be visible on all platforms while still being able to give 100% into their business!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a content creator and photographer! I help companies build their brands with engaging and beautiful content. I also help give companies a professional look to their website with clean photoshopped product photos. It took me about 6-8months to learn how to properly edit the website photos, I went through quite a few trials before being truly happy with the outcome. My current job provided the time, patience, and resources I needed in order to create art work that I could truly be proud of. I knew I was doing something right when I managed to make car parts look attractive online.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man this is a good one! My absolute favorite thing to do is show my friends and family my favorite parts of Colorado! Even though a week wouldn’t be nearly enough, I would definitely make it work!

Monday we would stay in Colorado Springs because my friend is most likely still adjusting to the altitude! I’d take them to eat at Shuga’s in Old Colorado City for breakfast and then head up Old Stage Road to check out the Stage Cantina and some of the gorgeous views the Springs has to offer.
Tuesday, we’ll head to Manitou Springs and walk the adorable downtown area. If they’re up for it, we’ll hit William’s Canyon for a breezy hike up to the massive waterfall! That night, we’ll get dinner at Ruffrano’s in Manitou!
Wednesday, we’re heading out to Breckenridge for a beautiful hike, a scenic trip down Main Street, and a visit to our wooden troll friend, Isak HeartStone! We’ll also be hitting pretty much every tiny mountain town on the way up so I can show them where I plan on living in the future.
Thursday, we’ll go to Denver to check out the art scene, cannabis scene, incredible food (Postino’s to be exact), and visit some of the amazing friends I’ve made up there.
Friday, we’re heading towards the boonies! A 3 day trip out to the Royal Gorge for historical scenery, ziplining adventures, and a scenic train ride!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m giving my shout out to the non-profit I’ve been working with for years called Because We Choose To! This organization has not only taught me empathy, structure, and dedication. The owner of this non-profit has had a huge helping hand in inspiring me to help smaller and local businesses get the chance they deserve to thrive in the current marketing world!
