We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabitha Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tabitha, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Florida, but my life took a dramatic turn when my father, who struggled with addiction and abuse, moved us to Colorado. Growing up in such a tumultuous environment was incredibly challenging. We often faced homelessness, and by the age of seven, I found myself entering the foster care system.
Being a child who experienced abuse and neglect was a heavy burden to bear. There were days filled with uncertainty and fear, and I often felt invisible, lost in the chaos of my surroundings. The instability made it hard to trust others, and I had to navigate the world with a sense of caution that no child should have to bear.
However, these difficult experiences also shaped me into who I am today. They instilled in me a resilience that I didn’t know I had. I learned to adapt, to find hope in the darkest of situations, and to appreciate the small moments of kindness and joy that came my way.
While my upbringing was fraught with challenges, it taught me the importance of empathy and understanding. I’ve developed a deep desire to help others who are going through similar struggles, and I strive to be a source of support and encouragement. My past has shaped my perspective on life, fueling my determination to overcome adversity and to advocate for those who feel voiceless. In many ways, my experiences have become the foundation of my strength and my passion for making a positive impact in the world.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Content creation and modeling can be incredibly rewarding, but they also come with significant struggles, especially when it comes to mental health. As a mental health advocate online, I often face the harsh reality of criticism and hate from those who don’t understand the journey I’ve been on. The pressure to present a perfect image can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to fall into the traps of body dysmorphia and self-doubt. There were times when I struggled to see my worth beyond the lens of social media, constantly comparing myself to others and feeling like I didn’t measure up. Navigating these challenges while trying to inspire others to embrace their own journeys has been a complex balancing act. Despite the negativity, I remain committed to sharing my truth, advocating for mental health awareness, and reminding my followers that it’s okay to be flawed and that we are not alone in our struggles.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit Colorado, I would begin our trip in Denver, of course, since that’s where I live. We’d start by exploring some of my favorite local bars, including The Cruise Room, Death & Company, and Bar Fausto. Given that many of my friends enjoy shopping, a visit to the Cherry Creek Mall would be essential. Although it’s a bit farther from Denver, I always take my guests to Estes Park to see The Stanley Hotel, one of my personal favorite destinations. To round out the trip, we’d make sure to visit a few of Colorado’s renowned hot springs for a relaxing experience.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to all my amazing friends and the limited family who have been my unwavering support system on this incredible journey as a model and content creator! Your encouragement, love, and belief in me mean the world, and I couldn’t have come this far without you. 💖
And to all my wonderful followers—thank you for being the driving force behind everything I do! Your support, likes, comments, and shares inspire me every day to keep pushing boundaries and expressing myself. You make this journey so rewarding, and I’m grateful for each and every one of you!
