Hi Tawnya, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
What a great question! The importance of work life balance is more important now than ever. When I first started my business 7 years ago the hustle, long work days and intense focus was exciting while I dreamed of the future. My goal was to have a business that allowed freedom. Freedom from being in one spot every day, being able to travel and enjoy the things I had worked so hard to obtain. I also wanted to create something bigger where I could share my success with other women who wanted a career in esthetics. Here we are 7 years later with a flourishing business, 15 to 20 amazing employees and the freedom to enjoy this life of family, traveling, friends and riding our horses multiple times a week. Pinch me now! We are truly blessed!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love treating friends to the many culinary delights in Denver! An evening out on the town we typically start with a classic drink at Cooper Lounge at Union Station. Cooper Lounge is one of the classiest bars in the country and Union Station is a special spot that should not be missed. Depending on the vibe for the night we may hit Troy Guard’s steak house Guard & Grace or Cativella in Stapleton. For a more laid back experience we love taking our guests on a horseback ride in the mountains and head back down to the cozy Sherpa House in Golden or grab a beer at New Terrain Brewery in Golden. There are some amazing adventures to be had in and near Denver.

Success for me directly comes from my incredible husband Roeland Fornerod & our amazing staff at Wax & Lash. My husband and I have been together for over 10 years & he is my mentor in life. He is patient, kind & supports me with his love & encouragement to jump and go after my many dreams. I feel like Superwoman having him by my side! With 7 years of leading others in this industry I think it finally clicked. Leading people is easy when you truly listen and approach life with GRACE. Wax & Lash has a team of women who represent us & our core values so beautifully. Our staff embody TRUTH, GRACE, PURPOSE & CONNECTION every day and our guests leave feeling so cared for.
