We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Olson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I originally started by business I think the thought process behind it was that my parents had been self employed entrepreneurs my whole life and I didn’t really know any different. I stared my business at 17 years old. Throughout the years it has grown and evolved into something I never really imagined it could be.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business at seventeen years old, I opened a full service salon on my eighteenth birthday and it’s flourished from there. I went to cosmetology school not knowing exactly which path I wanted to take, but makeup and skincare were always my biggest passions. From cosmetology in Montana I then went to professional makeup school in Dallas Texas, and advanced medical esthetics in Florida. Followed by permanent makeup school. I think having all the knowledge and working in different areas of the industry helped me evolve my craft and focus on the bridal industry. I now have my dream job and get to work with so many amazing brides.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Not being from Colorado it took sometime to figure this out myself. But there are some amazing hidden gems. I would take them to Boulder and eat at bobs atomic burgers and walk around downtown. I’m huge foodie so this will be mostly food driven!! We would have to go to Cranellies in Lone tree for Italian, and El Cazo for Mexican in Denver. I think Estes Park is my favorite mountain town so that would be a must as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly my dad was a big inspiration and mentor to me. He passed away a few years ago but he truly pushed me to be at the level I’m at today. He was a western artist known for his silver and leather work. I think that my passion for art came from him and my drive to be an entrepreneur.
