We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Aceves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teresa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We decided to start a business after my husband was laid off from his job, aiming for something that would resonate with our family values and be close to home. Our inspiration came from our daughter, who has always loved eating and preparing corn, often making it for everyone at home. This sparked the idea of opening our own corn stand. With this vision in mind, we began building our own oven and trailer to bring our concept to life.
What should our readers know about your business?
To begin with, it wasn’t easy. We initially struggled to attract customers and invested what little money we had to turn our small dream into a reality. Day after day, it felt like we were not making progress, and we struggled to achieve results. We were on the verge of giving up when customers began returning, praising the quality of our product and customer service. They told us they had recommended us to their friends and family, which gave us the encouragement we needed to continue our endeavor.
With renewed determination, we committed to giving 100% to ensure customer satisfaction and happiness. Our goal has always been to provide our loyal customers with the best products possible. Seeing families enjoy themselves as a result of our hard work gives us a sense of satisfaction above all else. We are dedicated to continuing our efforts to bring smiles and satisfaction to both our existing and new customers for years to come.
What sets us apart from the competition? The best way to find out is to come down and see for yourself. Everyone is always welcome.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend visited for a week, I would ensure they experience the best of what Denver has to offer, starting with its vibrant brunch scene. We would explore popular spots like Snooze, Tamayo, and Rupert’s at the Edge, each offering unique and delicious options.
To get a taste of local culture, we’d spend some time walking around the Denver Central Market and Milk Market, where we can explore a variety of local vendors. A scenic hike at Chautauqua Park would be a must to enjoy the stunning views, followed by a couple of days camping in the mountains to fully experience Colorado’s natural beauty.
After immersing ourselves in nature, we’d return to the city to visit the immersive Meow Wolf art installation and take a relaxing stroll through City Park. To recharge, we’d savor a comforting bowl of udon soup at Tokyo Teriyaki Restaurant.
For an evening of fun and socializing, Red Square Euro Bistro is the perfect spot for drinks and quality time with friends. To end the night on a high note, we would visit our favorite taco stand, Los Tacos Viejos, a beloved family-owned business known for its delicious offerings.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our biggest supporters have always been our children. Our daughter Vianney has played a crucial role in building our trailer, designing our logo, and assisting with production. Our daughter Patty manages all our social media accounts, marketing efforts, and accounting. Our son Sergio has been a tremendous help by stepping in for labor and covering extra hours when one of us is unwell. We are incredibly grateful to our children for their unwavering support and for being an integral part of this journey.
