We had the good fortune of connecting with The Kentucky Gentlemen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Kentucky Gentlemen, what do you want people to remember about you?
As The Kentucky Gentlemen, we want our legacy to show that you can fearlessly achieve anything you set your mind to and work for, while simultaneously being exactly who you are. We believe the music we create is exactly that. This world has a way of doing its best to put you in categories. We want our legacy to show there are no bounds that you can’t reach once you defy that mindset. We want to be remembered as a people of courage, confidence and self motivation. Most importantly, we want to be remembered as people who chose to follow our own path and that path led to us achieving our dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We were born and raised in the small town of Versailles, KY. So, naturally country music has been a large part of our journey. What sets The Kentucky Gentlemen apart from other artists is that we’re twin brothers. We feel that our connection as twins strengthens our connection with our listeners because it’s a bond like no other. It also makes singing together feel effortless. Our voices just blend in this really cool way. We like to say, “To know our music is to know The Kentucky Gentlemen.” Whether it be a fun party jam or a ballad, that same intimacy is there. The more you listen the more become part of our unique bond. Connecting with people is something that we were placed on this earth to do. We hope to continue to do it in the most positive way possible. We also really appreciate style and fashion so we enjoy spicing up and having fun with the clothes that we wear.

We are proud of what we have accomplished within the past year. Our latest single, ‘Vibin’ reached tons of people. We hear it in the most surprising moments such as in the airport playing over the speakers and then seeing our music video being played on CMT while in the middle of a bar in Wisconsin. We are so excited about the new songs that we’re releasing over the next few months. These new songs are fun and even sultry. People are going to continue to get to know who we are and what our vibe is and we’re genuinely so excited about that.

In all honesty, it has not been easy getting to this point. There are folks in this world who are convinced that everything needs to be placed in specific boxes. When some people first glance at us, they don’t immediately see country singers because of certain stereotypes and biases that have shaped mindsets for so long. We’ve worked to overcome this challenge by learning that we don’t have to prove to anyone just how country we are. We know who we are. We just have to keep showing up as ourselves. The right people will listen and love you for it. We actually believe that’s advice that everyone in this world should take. Keep showing up. We want the world to know that The Kentucky Gentlemen will never stop showing up for country music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What do both good days and bad days have in common? They end with Bourbon! We grew up just minutes away from multiple distilleries. But our hometown bourbon is Woodford Reserve. We live in Nashville now where there is no shortage of libations and the good times can start early in the day. We’d start the day off at our favorite brunch spot, Willie B’s for some Cajun flavor. The vibe there could get anyone prepared for a fun time out before heading next door to Minerva for some of that favorite bourbon of ours.
Then take a short ride over to midtown to typically catch some buddies singing some tunes on stage. We’d HAVE TO go hang out at the National Museum of African American Music. That place is fascinating and we aspire to be included one day! From there, we might as well stay on Broadway and close the night out dancing away. If we’re feeling a little more chill, we’d catch nice dinner reservations at Barcelona Wine Bar in Edgehill. The food and wine there is to die for!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to recognize all fans of our music! The fans who have been listening for a decade, those who just started listening, and even all our future listeners. We appreciate everyone who’s been on this journey with us so much.. Leslie Fram, Matt McClure, Chris Sligh, and Nashville Music Equality are people who’s efforts, mentorship, and support are inspirational driving factors in our lives.
