We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiara Jacobo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiara, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I come from a family of five siblings where we lived paycheck to paycheck with a less than ideal upbringing from our guardians and adults in our life. I promised myself I would break those cycles. I feel like it was more difficult for me to be able to gain that self-confidence to step out of my comfort zone and take risks to break the cycles, but alas I am finally here breaking through!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like most other personal trainers kind of hone in on the physical body rather than the person as a whole. I believe a person is body, mind, and breathe. So mental health is absolutely number 1 to me. I want to make every session uplifting or even releasing. I want to help clients make those mind body connections, and eventually I want to become certified in breath-work as well. Getting where I am today has definitely not been easy. I have had to put it a lot of self-work as well as missing time from my family and financial losses (hopefully just for now), but I have also gained self-awareness mentorship and better overall mental and physical health. I’m just one of those people who wants to put good into the world and hopefully eventually it will start to outweigh the cruelty in the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite brunch spot ever is Humbolt Kitchen + Bar. Helloooo mimosa pitchers! Nocturne is the best romantic spot, but make sure you get a table away from the stage if you want to talk to your partner! Other than that I’m more outdoors than anything and I love hikes such as Green Mountain and Bald Mountain. Lookout mountain is a drive up view, but totally awesome to get an ariel view of Denver!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m dedicating this shoutout to my daughter! After becoming a mother, it just kind of clicked with me that I had to keep growing and evolving and becoming a better version of myself to teach her she can do anything too.
