We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
For me, it all comes down to one simple truth: Joy. I deeply believe that our true path in life reveals itself when we follow the quiet, joyful promptings of the heart. When joy fades, it’s a clear sign I am out of alignment. By staying tethered to joy I find clarity and guidance, not just in my art, but in every day life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My oil paintings are a vibrant love letter to the Rocky Mountains and all the wild beings that share this breathtaking landscape I’m fortunate enough to call home. I’m deeply inspired by nature and paint in rhythm with the seasons, even shifting my palette to reflect the ever-changing colors of the land around me. Each piece I create is rooted in personal experience and joyful memories made in the mountains.

During the warmer months, my husband Chris and I, along with our rescue dog Tucker, live part-time in our 20-foot Airstream camper, nestled in the Colorado wilderness. It’s in these quiet, untamed places that my creative soul feels most nourished and new ideas begin to take root.

I paint in an impressionistic style because I love leaving room for interpretation, inviting others to bring their own stories, memories, and emotions into each piece. Art, for me, is a way of seeing the world through a unique lens, one that evokes feeling and invites connection. There’s a quiet kind of magic that happens when a painting finds the right person at just the right moment. I’m often deeply moved by the stories people share, especially when someone tells me that my work helped them through grief or brought them joy. Those moments remind me why I paint, to offer others a colorful world to retreat into when life feels heavy.

At the same time, I hope my work helps people reconnect with the natural rhythms of the earth, and remember that we are all part of something vast, wild, and deeply mysterious.
Starting my own business wasn’t something I planned. It began as a quiet tug at my heart, a soft inner pull I couldn’t ignore. Over time, that gentle whisper grew louder, until it became clear I had to follow it. I often liken my creativity to a wild fox. Sometimes, it reveals itself in bold clarity and encourages me on. Other times, it hides away and I must be patient for its return. I’ve learned not to chase it, but instead to remain present and give it freedom to roam and become what it wants to be.

In every creation I hope to celebrate the interconnectedness of all things and nourish the inner wild spirit that lives within us all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I had the good fortune of discovering and joining a truly unique gallery in Loveland called the Wilderness Art Quarry, and I can’t recommend it enough! What sets this gallery apart is its stunning location and the incredible local talent it showcases. It’s not uncommon to spot elk, wild turkeys, and raptors right on the gallery grounds. After finding a special piece of art to remember your visit, I suggest heading just five minutes up the road for a hike at Devil’s Backbone. From there, you can continue your adventure up the canyon to Estes Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve always been an artist at heart, but the subjects I paint are deeply rooted in my childhood, which was spent in the mountains. I’m incredibly grateful to have grown up in a loving home with lots of pets and outdoorsy parents, who regularly took us kids on adventures and nurtured our creativity. They made sure I always had the tools to express myself through color and imagination. Even today, my dad plays a special role in my art. He handcrafts the wood panels I paint on and builds complex, custom frames for each gallery painting. His craftsmanship brings a layer of care and love that makes every painting even more meaningful.
