We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Michaels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was inspired to create Epic Adventure Guatemala because it gave me a unique opportunity to help people that couldn’t help me. I wanted to created an everlasting impact in a community in need and at the same time share my experience with the world by bringing people to Gautemala and showing them all the beautiful country.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Epic Adventures Guatemala is a small American and Guatemalan owned adventure company that offered airport to airport packages. That’s really what’s unique for you we pick you up from the airport and you don’t have to worry. We have your transportation, food, fun, biking, hiking, hotels all included in your adventure package. It’s almost like a Movie. This business has been the most rewarding business as far as purpose. I’m able to help people in need but also provide this very unique adrenaline pumping product. Yes we face new lessons every week. Our main focus is to be as prepared as possible for every trip proving consultations to our clients and proper information so they have everything they need. We minimize our adventure slots because we offer such a unique experience we travel to 5 different cities and it’s a jam packed itineraries makes for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I will say the product is easy to talk to about anyone about which I love. I want the world to know that we are an exclusive mountain bike adventure company inGuatemala we offer airport to airport adventures so you don’t need to worry about a thing. We are owned by Guatemalans and Americans and want help support the community in ecotourism .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Omg I am so happy this is your first question because this is so easy.

I have to give the credit to so many people

God- provided me with life the opportunity to be where I am at and this is for righteousness.

Mom&Dad- I don’t like to brag very often. But I have by far the most supportive and loving parents. Regardless they have always pushed me harder and loved me even harder. I owe a great amount of my inspiration to my parents. When I was 8 they voluntold my brother an I that we would be mowing lawns to earn our own. They just really showed us how to work hard and do the right thing

Brother/ Joe- I have 2 other business partners they are my brothers we own a small custom home flooring business in the springs called Boulder Bros and specialize in high end construction projects. Together through failure and success we have learned how to run a business and I can’t thank them enough for helping me.

Malea Dew- My Girlfirend is an unpaid intern haha. She has been so unconditional in her support from actually coming to Guatemala and helping me build the business to actually posting all the social media and managing the accounts. She is the biggest blessing day to. Day as she encourages me to to keep going. My hypeman.

Alex and Nefta-
My team. Pretty much the main reason I’m doing this because I want to help my brothers in Guatemala they have given me such a unique opportunity to be doing this with them in their country. I want to help them for them rest of their lives. They are the nicest most genuine people I can’t thank them enough for all the blessing they have given me.

Grandma and Grandpa
Thank you for supporting my entire life. Showing up when you didn’t have to. And always loving me regardless of where I am at in the world. You have always been my biggest fans.
