Hi Trey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Commencing the entrepreneurial journey just a year ago, the inception of Boulder Hair Collective in North Boulder marks a significant milestone. This venture is distinguished by a dual emphasis on sustainability and luxury, creating a unique space that embodies both environmental consciousness and elevated service. The salon’s commitment to sustainability is tangible, with a remarkable 95% of services being recyclable, encompassing everything from hair and gloves to aluminum foil. This eco-friendly approach not only aligns with contemporary values but positions Boulder Hair Collective as a beacon of responsible business in the salon industry.

Beyond the aesthetic appeal of the salon, the emphasis on being community-driven is a core value. Acknowledging that the roots of positive change begin at the local level, Boulder Hair Collective takes pride in actively contributing to the well-being of the community and Mother Earth. Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey as a hairstylist began 17 years ago in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia. From the outset, my passion for the artistry of hairstyling led me on an incredible adventure that spanned across the country. Nine years ago, I found myself drawn to the breathtaking beauty of Boulder, Colorado, where I decided to put down roots. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of an extraordinary chapter in my career.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse locations, each contributing to the rich tapestry of my experience. From bustling urban salons to serene coastal retreats, every stop on my journey has been a stepping stone toward the realization of my dream. Now, as the proud owner of Boulder’s first sustainable luxury hair salon, Boulder Hair Collective, I reflect on the beautiful and amazing path that brought me here. This salon isn’t just a business; it’s a culmination of years of dedication, passion, and a commitment to creating a space that embodies both luxury and sustainability. It’s a testament to the transformative power of chasing one’s dreams and finding a home where passion meets purpose.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcoming my friend from Atlanta to explore Denver’s vibrant scene has been an absolute joy. We dove into the city’s cultural tapestry, immersing ourselves in the awe-inspiring museums that showcase Denver’s rich history and artistic flair. The museum visits became a captivating journey through time, complementing the dynamic energy of the Mile High City.

Culminating our exploration was a visit to our favorite restaurant, 24 Carrot Bistro, nestled in the charming town of Erie, Colorado. The culinary delights served here were nothing short of a masterpiece, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to creativity and taste. The combination of Denver’s cultural gems and the culinary excellence of 24 Carrot Bistro made my friend’s visit an unforgettable experience, creating lasting memories against the backdrop of Denver’s vibrant and diverse offerings.

A heartfelt shout-out to my incredible fiancé, Blaze, and my best friend, Kristin, for being the unwavering pillars of support in my entrepreneurial journey. Blaze’s steadfast love and Kristin’s unyielding friendship have been the driving forces behind this venture, and I am immensely grateful for their belief in my vision.
