We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Tullar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
We have had to quickly learn how to fit 4 young men into a small van for months at a time with only a backpack for a closet and sleeping in a different city every night. At times, our band can get into disagreements and build resentment, just as any group of young men crammed into a small space for long periods of time would. However, over the last two tours, we have built a strong chemistry together and we have learned skills of how to navigate our issues as a group.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Dirty Turkeys stand out for their genre-bending “acid-cow-punk” sound, a gritty fusion of
psychedelic rock, surf-blues, punk, and outlaw Western vibes. Formed in Boulder in late 2022, they’ve
quickly evolved from basement jam sessions to a high-octane touring act headlining venues across the
West Coast.
What really sets them apart is their live presence: raw, immersive, and chaotic in the best way,
think energy that feels both timeless and completely unhinged. Their DIY grind and deep-rooted
chemistry as a band powers both their music and their momentum.
They’ve already dropped a debut album, Cowboy Caravan, and hit the road with a self-booked
30-show run across five states. That tour cemented their fanbase in cities like Denver, L.A., and San
Diego, and earned them titles like “Denver’s Best Acid Rock Band” and “Must-See Rock Band of 2025.”
On top of that, a 7-person film crew is currently documenting their tour for a festival-bound
documentary. Their story, music, and mayhem are all catching fire—fast.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We travel a lot for our job, so we don’t really have too many roots stuck in one particular place. However, some of our favorite spots that we have visited are the Stanley Kasino Club in Idaho, The Taco Stand in San Diego, Lincoln Market in San Luis Obispo, and True Nature in Carbondale, CO.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shoutout Tango Studios in Parker, CO for helping us bring our vision for our debut album, Cowboy Caravan, to life. Specifically, Aidan Roberts always has great input and ideas, while still maintaining the creative space we need as artists. I highly recommend Tango Studios to any musician looking to take their recording to the next level.
