We had the good fortune of connecting with Valerie Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always loved learning and the marketing world is a space of constant education because it changes so fast, and you have to learn your clients’ brands enough to market them. I loved going to the library as a kid. I was notorious for always having a book with me to soak in a few extra minutes to read. Even as an adult, the library is a favorite place to go, and consuming content has always been a fun thing for me. This love for learning is what has driven me to thrive in the fast-paced space of digital marketing where new algorithms, trends, tools, and more come out every day. I love learning these new things and applying them to client projects. I also love ideating on how to apply new resources to marketing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love getting out of the city a little bit. Living in Colorado, we have so much beauty to enjoy in nature. I would take friends to places like Garden of the Gods, Castlewood Canyon State Park, or even into the foothills. All of these are great options for people who want to see epic beauty, but also might have varying levels of athleticism or ability to hike at higher elevations. My favorite restaurant is also just down the road from Garden of the Gods: Salsa on the Rock. They have great queso and salsas!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve participated in a few notable peer mastermind groups that have given me the accountability, encouragement, and kick-in-the-pants I’ve needed over the years to make the next right step in my business. I’m grateful for all of the men and women in those groups included Melody Jones, Lauren Davis, and Greg Jameson for inviting me to be part of these various groups over the years.
