We had the good fortune of connecting with Varun Bindal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Varun, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When we set out to launch our Indian food truck, we knew we wanted to offer more than just delicious food — we wanted to bring a piece of Indian culture to the streets of Colorado Springs. That idea started with a simple question: What do we miss the most about home?

In India, food isn’t just about eating — it’s about gathering. Whether it’s a roadside chai stand, a college canteen, or a bustling street corner, there’s always a place where people come together to share snacks and stories. These spots are often known for lively conversations, local gossip, and laughter — a kind of informal hangout we lovingly call an “adda.” It’s where food and friendship meet.

That’s exactly what we wanted to recreate here. So we named our food truck Gossip Point — a playful nod to those special places back home where the food is hot and the gossip is even hotter.

At Gossip Point, we serve authentic Indian Fusion food with big hearts and bold spices — but just as importantly, we invite people to linger, chat, and connect. Because for us, food is a social experience. And every bite has a story.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My husband and I recently launched our Indian fusion food truck on May 15th, and it’s been an incredible journey so far. Our concept blends the bold, authentic flavors of Indian cuisine with modern, creative twists that make it approachable for everyone. What sets us apart is our passion for sharing our culture through food, and our focus on using high-quality ingredients and unique recipes you won’t find anywhere else.

We’re most proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time. Opening a food truck hasn’t been easy—it took a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and late nights. From navigating permits and regulations to designing a menu that truly represents our vision, we faced a lot of challenges. But we kept pushing through with the support of our family and the belief that what we’re building is something special.

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is to stay flexible and keep learning. Every day brings something new, and we’ve grown not just as entrepreneurs but as partners in life and business.

We want the world to know that our food truck is more than just a place to grab a bite—it’s a celebration of culture, love, and community. We’re here to bring people together through food, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Colorado Springs for a week, I’d plan a mix of scenic adventures, local flavor, and relaxing hangouts to give them the full experience. We’d start with a visit to Garden of the Gods for hiking and incredible red rock views, followed by lunch in Old Colorado City and rooftop drinks downtown. We’d ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit one day and explore the Cave of the Winds on another for some real thrills. I’d take them to charming Manitou Springs to stroll, shop, and enjoy natural soda springs and the arcade. For history and culture, we’d visit the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the Flying W Ranch for an authentic Western evening. We’d also do a day trip to the Royal Gorge Bridge for breathtaking views. And of course, no trip would be complete without enjoying some amazing local eats. We’d stop by my own Indian fusion food truck “Gossip Point (of course!), and also check out for amazing breweries here in Colorado Springs for crafted beers.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“I owe a lot of my success to the incredible support of my family. My wife- Munisha Bindal has been my rock—encouraging me every step of the way and working beside me to bring our dream of opening a food truck to life. My parents believed in me from the beginning and helped in countless ways, from offering advice to lending a helping hand when things got tough. I’m also deeply grateful to my cousin and extended family, who stepped in when we needed extra help and supported us through the challenges. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without them.”
