We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Tristan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I would say taking custody of my niece when she was 7 years old after losing her parents was the most important thing I have done as an aunt stepping into a parental role. I have been able to give her an a happy, thriving, and loving childhood. She is stepping into her senior year of High School this year and she is a mature, beautiful, kind, intelligent young lady with a promising future. I was not prepared for how much purpose and value being a parent to her would add to my life, but it made my life better in every way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are two sides to my business NVUS Brows & Skincare which is the Aesthetic side of the business specializing in treatments like Waxing and Skincare, And Denver Lip Lab which is the Med Spa side of the business providing services like Medical Grade Skincare treatments, Injectables and Permanent Makeup.

My specialties are Brows and Lips while our Esthetician Angelina has mastered our other services like Lash Lifts, Brazilian Waxing, Brow Laminations and Facials. I have been in business for going on 9 years and it has been a journey. You will work harder for yourself than anybody else. The thing I am most proud of aside from the stunning transformations and glow-ups we have been able to deliver to our clientele is the genuine relationships we have built over the years. My clients become my friends and it is something I value over everything else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorites spots in the city to chill are parks like Washington Park and Sloans Lake and favorite places to hangout and eat are the food court like collectives around the city. The Source, Edgewater Public Market and Avanti to name a few. Whenever I have friends or family in town we always go to Avanti!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One person who deserves credit in helping to elevate my career is without a doubt Ana Alvarado. Ana is my mentor and the person who gave me the kick in the butt I needed to actually begin pursuing injectables. She’s this gorgeous little incredibly talented Aesthetic Injector who showed up one day for a facial and said “Girl what are you doing? With everything you are currently doing you need to add injectables. You need to at least be doing botox!” She’s the owner of Unfiltered Beauty Babes. Injectables is one of the highest levels of education and treatments you can legally perform as an Aesthetician and it is not for the faint of heart. The transformations that can be achieved with Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and Neuromodulators has become my current passion and has taken my career to the next level. I have Ana to thank for that always and forever!
