We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Donovan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Without a doubt, I owe the success of Clinically Media to the phenomenal team we’ve built. When you’re working to improve diversity in clinical research, as we are, a team that’s aligned on vision, values, and mission is non-negotiable. This, by design, has established a team with the agency to do what needs to be done as we march towards a common goal. We own our purpose as a company and our projects; we put integrity in our work above all else, and we enjoy what we do (this one’s important).
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want the world to know that under my leadership, Clinically Media and I are devoted to improving your healthcare treatment options by enhancing clinical trial patient recruitment.
According to a University of Pennsylvania study, around 86% of clinical trials do not reach their patient enrollment timelines. In some cases, this means that a new treatment is simply delayed in reaching the market. In other more heartbreaking cases, it means potentially life-saving treatments are never made available to in-need patients because clinical trial enrollment milestones aren’t met, funding runs out, and essential data is never collected.
By enhancing the experience of clinical research participation, improving health equity, and connecting patients to potentially lifesaving treatments as soon as they are available, we are enrolling clinical studies quicker to ensure that more potentially life-saving treatments are brought to market faster – treatments that could one day save your life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When you come to visit me, be prepared to eat and drink your way through the week. To eat, I need to take you to either Linger or El Five at least once or I am a bad Denver host. Great views, cool atmospheres, and Little Man Ice Cream a few feet away? A recipe for surefire good times. Otherwise, I’m excited to take you to ChoLon (can’t miss the soup dumplings), Osteria Marco, Bao Brewhouse, and Ophelia’s (preferably for brunch). Afternoon tea at the Brown Palace, Casa Bonita (God willing it is open again soon), and Nocturn Jazz and Supper Club are great to fast-track entertainment and eating at the same time. If we are possibly able to eat any more, we’re going to Jax for seafood, getting pizza from the Dairy Block, and eating at Super Mega Bien (dim sum but make it Latin American).
For drinks, chances are high we’re going to go to Green Russel, Cruise Room, and/or Death and Co for the craft cocktail of your dreams. A winery/cidery/brewery tour in Rino is absolutely essential, with a sure stop at The Source Hotel rooftop for a look back at the city. After the sun gets past its peak, I’d love to take you to Number Thirty Eight to ride out an afternoon at the brewery/food hall.
In between eating and drinking, we’ll need activities to keep us hungry and thirsty. That’s where a show at Red Rocks, Mission Ballroom (must be done after Red Rocks so the ease of everything can be appreciated), and downtown Comedy Works come in. We’re also likely to check out if a cool exhibit is at the Denver Art Museum, do a couple of Wash Park laps (maybe throw up the volleyball net), and go to a Rockies or Avs game.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to the incredibly talented, smart, and devoted Clinically Media team – you are a driving force behind a brighter future in healthcare.
