Meet Whitney Martin | Mom, Wife, Realtor, Fundraiser

We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitney, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
The New Rules by Margarita Nazarenko is the book I absolutely needed to read. As women, we’ve spent years navigating an environment that often demands we embody both masculine and feminine roles—sometimes to the point of masculine overload. We’ve built careers, run households, and carried an immense mental and emotional load, believing that balancing it all equally was the only way to succeed.
But what if there’s another way? This book offers a refreshing and deeply insightful perspective on reclaiming the power of the feminine—not by pulling back, but by leaning into the strengths that are uniquely ours. Nazarenko lays out a compelling new paradigm where feminine energy is not only powerful but essential to achieving greater success, fulfillment, and balance.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly pushing, proving, and striving in a way that feels unsustainable, The New Rules will show you how to shift into a more aligned, intuitive, and ultimately more effective way of leading and living. It’s a must-read for any woman ready to redefine success on her own terms.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
After nine incredible years at Colorado Home Realty, I’ve made the exciting move to NextHome Aspire—a new chapter in my real estate career that reflects my growth, experience, and the values I bring to my clients. My journey into real estate wasn’t traditional; I studied journalism and technical communications at Colorado State University, which led me to grassroots marketing early on. That foundation has been invaluable because, at its core, real estate is a relationship-driven business built through trust, connection, and genuine care.
What sets my business apart is the heart I put into every transaction. I don’t just help people buy and sell homes—I guide them through one of the most significant decisions of their lives. I consider it an honor to be chosen for this role, and if I didn’t know my clients well before we started working together, I certainly leave with lifelong friendships by the end.
Three years into my real estate career, our family faced an unimaginable challenge—our oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Navigating the reality of being a working mother with a child fighting a life-threatening illness was not easy. There were days when I didn’t know how I would balance it all, but I kept going, leaning on an incredible team to ensure my clients still received the best possible service. That experience changed me. It gave me a new perspective on resilience, patience, and what truly matters in life. It also deepened my ability to connect with my clients on a more personal level. Buying or selling a home is often tied to a major life transition, and I understand firsthand the emotions and complexities that come with big changes. I’ve learned to be more in tune with my clients’ needs, helping them navigate the process with not just expertise, but empathy.
Another core part of my business is philanthropy. I believe in giving back to the community as much as possible, and I weave that commitment into every transaction. Whether through Rowen’s Bridge—the fund I founded to support caregivers and teens navigating pediatric cancer—or my ongoing work with the Morgan Adams Foundation, my focus has always been on making a meaningful impact.
I take a hands-on, strategic approach with every client. This is not a “list it and forget it” process—I am deeply involved, from pricing and staging to negotiations and beyond. But if you’re looking for a yes-girl, I’m not the right fit. I’m brutally honest when needed, always with the goal of getting you the best possible results. Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading, or making a big life transition, I’m here to make sure you feel confident, informed, and supported every step of the way—because I know firsthand how important it is to have the right people in your corner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What I love most about Colorado is how it blends a fun, trendy vibe with endless outdoor adventure. You can go from hiking a mountain to grabbing a beer at a local brewery in the same afternoon. There’s no shortage of places to explore, and honestly, I’ve barely made a dent in the long list of incredible breweries around Denver and beyond.
If I had to plan a perfect day, it would probably include axe throwing (because why not?), followed by a stop at Beau Jo’s Pizza, which is a must-try Colorado classic. And if you’re feeling ambitious, you could tackle the Manitou Incline—it’s brutal, but totally worth it. Afterward, wandering through Manitou Springs’ quirky shops makes for the perfect way to recover. In the summer, you’ll find me at one of Colorado’s many farmers markets—they’re all over the city, and I love supporting local vendors.
Winter in Colorado is a whole different experience, and you don’t have to be a skier or snowboarder to enjoy it. Renting a cabin, embracing the snowfall, and just slowing down for a bit is something everyone should do at least once. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, snowshoeing, or just enjoying a cozy fire, there’s something about winter here that feels special. No matter the season, Colorado has something for everyone—and that’s why I love it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A Shoutout to My Brave Cancer Warrior, Rowen
My daughter’s cancer diagnosis changed everything. It shaped who I am, how I see the world, and the mission I’ve committed myself to. Watching her fight with so much strength and resilience made it clear that no family should go through this alone.
After Rowen went into remission, I saw there was a direct need to serve caregivers and teens locally affected by pediatric cancer so I started Rowen’s Bridge. Now, by merging my efforts with Morgan Adams as a volunteer and member of their family council, I’m now able to contribute even more toward advancing pediatric cancer research and supporting families in need. Now, I’m taking that mission a step further by working with the Morgan Adams Foundation in Colorado, combining efforts to make an even greater impact.
Going through this experience changed me at my core. I’m still growing into the person I’ve become because of it, and I’m learning to embrace what’s next. But one thing will never change—my commitment to supporting these kids, these families, and finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
