We had the good fortune of connecting with Wil Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wil, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Simply put, because I drove myself up a wall trying my hand at I-banking, and successfully I might add. Tried sales, did the whole get my parents off my back thing. Then I started drinking a lot, to the point of oblivion and I checked myself into rehab, pulled the plug and never looked back. I didn’t get sober to die behind someone else’s dream.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a multi-instrumentalist that has been trained in finance, marketing, sales & networking. In addition to melting your face off with a synth, I have the ability to put myself into any market as a value add. Everyone needs a jazz pianist who knows his stuff, I always say. I kept saying yes to opportunities, even if I didn’t necessarily want to be a part of them, because I knew it was experience, and next thing I knew I was playing stages of 1000+ people.

Over quarantine, most musicians imploded their careers. Mine took off. The world should check out all the beauty that I put out there on my website. But most recently, releases with Eminence Ensemble and Verses the Inevitable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dazzle, Hiking, Meadowlark late night, AA meetings at York, Sweat lodge in Conifer, more concerts.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Colorado Artists in Recovery, and the band Eminence Ensemble. I also want to shout out my mentor, Wes Hamil, who I co-write songs with, my friend Darin Valdez, who runs CAiR & my friends in the Denver community/ Denver music scene.

Large amount of credit goes to my mother, father, siblings, and teachers of all sorts.
