Meet Yuan Jie Wen | Owner of Callowhill Archery

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuan Jie Wen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuan Jie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The center city Philadephia was quickly developing with young professional moving in and there was a need for more recreational activities. I wanted to introduce the sport of archery into the City of Philadelphia and at the same time New York City has three indoor archery ranges.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are the only archery range in the city of Philadelphia and are trying to cater to everyone from all walks of life from children to senior adults. The journey was not easy and there are always improvements that need to be made along the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely Far East Descendant, it is a modern Cantonese Chinese cuisine with great food and drinks as well! The owner Kevin Wong is a very talented Entrepeneur who has a great vision for the business.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My groomsman Howard first introduced me to archery in the summer of 2019. I would not have known about the sport if it was not for him.
