We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandy Sammon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always strived to be the kind of person that tries to make a difference in the lives of others. For more than thirty years, I had a rewarding career as a First Grade Teacher. Throughout the years, I made great efforts to have a positive impact and enhance the lives of my students. When that chapter in my life came to an end and I retired from teaching, I found myself still wanting to make a difference. I turned to crafting which allowed me to use my creative abilities to make creations for others. From a very young age I’ve had a true passion for crafting. It gives me such great pleasure to create beautiful things that bring a sense of peace and joy. A year ago I began making wreaths to decorate our new home. My husband shared my wreath creations on Facebook for our family and friends to see. To my surprise, several asked if I would consider selling them. That was the moment I decided to share my creations with others.
I believe my wreath creations have been so well received because they bring beauty, peace and joy to others during these uncertain times in our world. It truly warms my heart to see the delightful reactions my wonderful customers experience the first time they see the special wreath I’ve created for them. Never could I have ever imagined others would love my wreath creations as much as I love creating them. I am beyond grateful to be able to do this for others. This gives me hope that my creations are having a positive impact and hopefully enhancing lives as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I design and handcraft unique wreath creations in hopes of bringing some beauty, peace and joy to others. I am proud to say that I have handcrafted and created more than 85 different wreath designs since starting “Simply Sandy Creations” a year ago. My portfolio of creations has become quite diverse. I design wreaths for every holiday and season along with any type of Custom Order a customer may request. My wreath creations are a true reflection of the passion I have for my craft. Each and every one of my designs are made with love.
I am also incredibly fortunate to have the best customers ever! They have been so supportive of this new venture. I’m so excited to say that many of my orders are from return customers, several of whom have purchased four or more wreaths from me in the past year. I’m so thrilled to have one customer in particular, who has purchased twelve wreaths from me in the last eight months. They truly humble me with their confidence in my wreath making abilities. I am so extremely grateful to each and every one of my wonderful customers. They are absolutely incredible!
My hope is to be able to bring beauty and joy to many more people. If my creations can bring even a small amount of beauty, peace and joy to others, I will have accomplished what I envisioned for this business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado is such a beautiful place to live and visit. It is extremely difficult to mention all the wonderful activities one could participate in. My favorite activity is getting to experience the amazing golf courses our state has to offer. Bear Dance Golf Course and Arrowhead Golf Course are two extremely beautiful courses I would highly recommend playing. Both courses give you the true experience of our beautiful mountain scenery that makes Colorado so special. My personal favorite Golf Course is in my own area, Walking Stick Golf Course. It’s a wonderful course that everyone should play at least once. I’m fortunate to get to play there often. I would highly recommend these three beautiful Golf Courses whether you’re visiting our great state or are lucky enough to live here. Another activity I would highly recommend is watching any and all of the Professional Sports Teams we are lucky to have here in Colorado. Depending on the time of year I would suggest to take in a Denver Broncos football game, a Colorado Avalanche hockey game, a Denver Nuggets basketball game or my personal favorite a Colorado Rockies baseball game. Our sports venues are some of the best stadiums and arenas in the country and are always a great experience for all.
These are just a few of my favorite places to visit and things to do in our beautiful state. It would be impossible to mention everything else our amazing state has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this Shoutout to my Husband and Children first and foremost, and then to my family and friends. I am extremely grateful for the encouragement and support each and every one of them have given throughout this new business venture. They have cheered on this new business from the very beginning.

It all began with my wonderful husband who encouraged me to pursue my passion for creating wreaths that would bring beauty and joy to others. From the moment he started sharing my wreath creations on Facebook, I have been so fortunate and very blessed to have gained the support of our family and friends along with my husband and children. They not only continue to purchase my wreath creations, they have helped in so many other aspects of this new business as well. They helped me devise a name that portrays everything I envision this business should be “Simply Sandy Creations”. They also give me the inspiration and motivation to challenge myself to create new and unique wreath designs. Their genuine enthusiasm for this business to succeed is truly heartwarming.

In addition, my wonderful children had the incredible foresight to encourage me to expand the Social Media presence for this business. Since following their advice, I’m pleased to say I have seen a tremendous increase in the exposure the business is now receiving which has resulted in many new very special customers throughout the United States.

I truly could not do what I love to do, bringing a little joy to others and continue to take this business to the next level without each and everyone’s incredible support.
