We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Nares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It was unintentional how perfect everything kind of rolled together for me but I started with just bridal makeup. I worked full time at our Hospitals clinic as a Medical Assistant in Surgery and almost every Saturday I would be doing 8-12 girls makeup. Eventually after a few years I would notice there the obvious our town has nothing for event rentals. I started to look into a Photo Booth I could buy and rent out, I already was having relationships with brides for their makeup so I felt like I would be able to also offer this successfully. I created “Nares Event Co.” Made a Facebook page called it a day. Then Covid happened. I was furloughed from surgery for 11 weeks. During this time I missed my kids Easter minis that were canceled because of quarantine. I shot them with my iPhone and they were so cute for my porch! the next day I bought a camera, paid for a mentorship with a photographer in another state and again, made a business page. I was not prepared for where this would take me! I ended up leaving my job in surgery a year after after picking up my camera. Now I have rolled all my services up into a one top show ball,

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Right now iam most excited about opening a event venue. After about 2 years I finally found a building that hit all the boxes. I can have studio space for my photography, a space for our event rentals, all tied together in a event space. This is what sets us apart we offer a one stop shop. My biggest lesson has been time management. Last year I overworked myself so badly I had just left my job so I felt like I needed to be working every day, and I paid for that come fall. I was so worn down and tired. This year I raised my prices and because Sam full time I can devote time to rentals, and photography which is also great because I feel like ill never get bored.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
without a doubt my husband, Ryan. I have some wild ideas, but he always supports them. He supported me taking the leap and leaving my hospital job of 10 years. I would not be here where I am today without his encouragement and constant faith in me.
