We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel DiMatteo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had the entrepreneurial bug at a very young age and knew that I wanted to start my own business one day. While growing up, I watched my parents give everything to jobs they hated and watched it suck the lives out of them. I was determined to do whatever it took to never have to live my life the same way. I wanted control over my own success and happiness and I genuinely wanted to love what I did. After starting a family in 2016 I had a whole new meaning of life and that’s when I started my own Real Estate Business and became a Mompreneur. Owning my own business provided me the balance of being a successful business owner and also not missing out on any moments with my family. This to me is what life is all about.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I could have chosen many different business paths but I chose Real Estate because I am a Colorado Native and helping my clients buy and sell homes in my hometown that I have so much love for just made sense. Colorado has changed so much throughout the years and I think it’s important to work with a Real Estate Agent that understand the growth and change. I believe this is why my clients enjoy working with me and why I am different from other Agents because I am so knowledgeable and confident in so many different areas of Colorado. I help my clients feel empowered, knowledgeable and excited so they can feel confident in their decisions. I care for my client’s well-being and their future. I never look at my clients as another transaction. They become like family to me. I listen to their wants, needs and dreams and then its all a matter of how I can help them get there. Their success is my success. I am extremely proud to be where I am at today. I pride myself on being a “one-woman-show” so I don’t work for any corporate giants Like Zillow or Redfin. When clients choose me as their Agent it puts food on the table for my family and directly impacts my small woman-owned business. I love what I do and I cannot thank my friends, family and community enough for trusting me and choosing me as their Realtor. I have fought hard since day one to make it in this industry. It has never been easy and it’s still a grind every. single. day. Many Realtors do not last more than 2 years because they don’t understand the grind and the hustle. Now, 5+ years later I am still here, still thriving and it’s all thanks to people who said yes to my dreams so I could help them fulfil theirs. I am so proud of myself and all of my clients. Cheers to going after our dreams!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We probably wouldn’t just stay in the city, we would explore all of my favorite places in Colorado and must-sees!
Monday-Explore Downtown Denver and have yummy margaritas and a phenomenal brunch at La Loma Mexican Cuisine–It’s a Denver staple and it’s a must! Then head over to Union Station where you will check in at the Crawford Hotel and then head down to take some insta-worthy pics and have a drink at the Terminal Bar. Then we would bike or scooter and sightsee around Downtown. We would end our day at a Rockies Game and enjoy the game on the Rooftop Deck with the beautiful sunset that Colorado’s known for. We would eat a late night snack at the Cherry Cricket which has a view of Coors Field and the best burgers and fries in town!!
Tuesday-head to Morrison, Colorado and catch a concert at Red Rocks. We would enjoy the little town of Morrison before the concert and have dinner and a BIG margarita at The Morrison Inn. The concert, music and the scenery that Red Rocks has to offer is magical and you will definitely fall in love.
Wednesday & Thursday- Head up to the mountains and enjoy Breckinridge, Colorado. Walk around the town and eat at Eric’s pizza. Enjoy a crepe at the popular Crepe shop. Have a craft beer at any local brewery and catch live music! End the night sippin’ wine in the AirBNB hot tub(always a must when booking a mountain getaway). Once it’s time to head back to town don’t forget to stop at the Silverthorne Outlets!
Friday- Head down the mountain and stop in Blackhawk and gamble and enjoy free drinks at the casinos and popular buffets. Stay late and see live bands & DJs at Monarch Casino and Lady Luck Casino to name a few.
Saturday & Sunday- We would have to muster up enough energy and squeeze in a quick trip to gorgeous Colorado Springs. Saturday, spend the day at the Garden of The Gods and hike. Sunday, head to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to see the beautiful Zoo and one of the biggest attractions in Colorado. In my opinion, just as beautiful and worthy as the San Diego Zoo.
This is just to name a few things! There’s so much to know and see and that’s why so many people just end up moving here (haha).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to my amazing husband for supporting and helping me get to where I am today. My husband is a go-getter Dad and holds down the fort so I can make my dreams a reality. Thank you for believing in me every step of the way. I think it’s always so hard for moms, especially new moms, to start a new career and go after their dreams. There are expectation of us from society and from our partners. I think in this scenario my husband saw that I love being a mom but I also have a burning passion to fulfill my purposes as well. He never let that scare him away and he stepped up to the plate every time I needed him. He says he’s attracted to my hustle and I love that. Thanks for not trying to tame me. Love you babe!
