We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherie Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cherie, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Staying consistent and setting higher standards once a job is complete to achieve more! I find myself lacking in areas if I am not finding myself consistent in my career or the duties that my career requires me to perform!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career is with Medicare government as a licensed insurance manager! I have maintained over the past 3 years of this career to be promoted 6 times and have now became one of the senior level managers to develop other agents to become successful. Also the pleasure of being an event host! To be where I am it took much positive mindsets to get up daily and make each day count! I am goal driven so this job allows me to hit goals and to see the benefits of hard work! No it was not easy but it was challenging to deal with the levels of next! Along the way I have learned no one can see it like you see it for yourself! Only you know what you want in life and you will have to stay connected to the right people and stay in the right path to get there. I am now a single parent making 6 figures a year and thank God for everything he has blessed me with to provide for my family. What I want the world to know about is that I am confident in what I do! I believe In what I do therefore I am successful to be who I am! There is more to come, so don’t let anyone or anything stop you from being great and it’s okay to be happy! #labelmeconfident

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to all of my soul sisters that I am close to from Pre-K to college who I have watched become entrepreneurs and have pushed me to be apart of their master plans and events to host! Tenisha Dunlap and Dorrina Hines have helped pushed me to be more positive and productive in my career just by watching them stay focused! My family who always prayed and taught me that anything is possible through Christ by just keeping him first! Also to my strongest motivation and why is my son Zaiden Kellam! I dedicate this shoutout to those special ones and the love of my life that always push and pray for me as well! To my close friends and family I Thank you!!!
