We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Throughout my time in law school and early on in my career, I worked at a litigation firm that handled banking, insurance, real estate and other complex commercial litigation matters. I had never thought I would start my own practice, but the longer I worked at the litigation firm, the more clear it was to me that modern business owners needed a legal team that could, not only better meet their needs, but could also be understandable and approachable. So, I set out to do just that. I created a practice tailored to meet the needs of modern business owners.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My law firm, Williams Law, is a law firm for the modern business owner. We are a woman-owned, virtual law firm that focuses on protecting business owners via contracts and trademark registration. We make legal efficient, understandable, and approachable and that is what sets us apart from others.

It certainly was not easy, as I do not come from a family of lawyers who could show me the ropes or help me build a practice. I was the first person in my family to ever go to law school and the first generation on my father’s side to even go to college. While difficult on many fronts, it has been an incredible experience and, as a business attorney, has put me in a better position to understand the struggles my clients face in building their own businesses.

I absolutely love what I do and my practice. It has been such a joy to see and celebrate the incredible successes of my clients!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Colorado! There is so much to do and see. Everyone knows about Red Rocks and has been there multiple times. I’d recommend a trip to Palisade, Colorado or a weekend at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. I’ve been wanting to check out The Weathered Wick to make a custom candle, so that would be at the top of my list.

We would certainly have to go to Wash Park for a walk and visit Sweet Cow for ice cream. On Sunday, the Platt Park farmers market is the place to be. Downtown Littleton has also become one of my favorite spots. It’s a great place to walk around during the day and Kate’s Wine Bar is a go-to for happy hour!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been many people who have been imperative to my growth and success over the years. My husband, however, is the reason my practice, Williams Law, is what it is today. He pushed me to take the risk and to bring my ideas to life and start my own practice and has cheered me on the entire way. He has always been my greatest supporter.
