We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Baldwin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I was younger I never used to be one who took risks. I played things safe and lived my life with a very specific set of rules. But as I grew older I realized that by doing so, I was only holding myself back. I was in college when I decided to take the risk of exploring the outdoors, mostly on my own. I wanted to show myself that as a single woman I still had opportunities to explore the world and immerse in nature! And I have felt so fulfilled ever since.

Hiking and camping can be so intimidating for so many people. By starting my blog All Over Adventure I hope to inspire those in my community and across the globe to get out and explore! This world has so much beauty to discover, and I want to encourage people to take the risk and do it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started All Over Adventure as a way to express my creativity through photography and storytelling. As I started adventuring more into the outdoors I knew that I wanted to share my journey and inspire others to do the same. It is something that simply started as a hobby, but as I began to grow I realized that I can have a wider impact. The proudest moments come to me in messages from others saying how they were emboldened by my blog and social media channels to go out of their comfort zone and try something new, even if it is scary!

It hasn’t been easy by any means! Setting yourself apart as a blogger in the social media world of today is challenging to say the least. But I focus on the community I have grown, the people I have met, and the opportunities that have come my way and it makes it worthwhile. I have gone out of my comfort zone so many times myself, and realized just how much this beautiful earth has to offer us. I hope that for anyone who feels limited or afraid of adventuring that I can inspire you to see it is possible, and beyond that it makes life so much more magnificent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is the best! For eating out I highly recommend McGregor Square, Happy Camper, Blue Sushi, and the Milk Market. The Milk Market has one of my favorite bars: Seven Grand. Or for fun Speakeasy vibes, check out Green Russell.

The city itself has some fun things to do as well. Take a stroll through Union Station or along Sixteenth Street Mall. If you are feeling competitive, check out Urban Putt for a twist on traditional miniature golf. Larimer Square often has music and the string lights are an iconic sight! And of course, if there is a band you like in town, nothing beats a concert at Red Rocks!

And why come to Denver without visiting The Rocky Mountains?? Denver is a hub with incredible hiking opportunities. We are just about 1.5 hours from Rocky Mountain National Park. In the park check out Dream Lake or Sky Pond if you are feeling extra adventurous. For hikes closer to downtown try Waterton Canyon, Independence Mountain, Chief Mountain or Golden Gate Canyon State Park. And for all things Colorado adventure, definitely check out my blog All Over Adventure.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has been my rock from the start. Starting a new journey with blogging has been scary! Opening myself up to the opinions and criticism of others has not been easy but my family has given me unconditional love and support from day one. And they have served as some of the best photographers/videographers around! I feel so lucky to have them by my side and have gotten to go on so many adventures with them throughout my life.
