Meet Larry O’Connor | Music Performer / Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry O’Connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had to figure out what hats I was going to wear. Marketing, Sales, Web Development, accounting, R&D, Audio-Visual, computer literacies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was a piano bar entertainer for 20 years in Chicago and Denver each! You are as good as your repertoire is wide in this biz. I focus on baby boomers and 20th century pop music up to about 1986. What is important is to deliver FUN. I can now bring a portable setup anywhere and create a singalong party atmosphere wherever there is an electrical outlet.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Belmar has plenty of restaurants, so that is the first stop. Across the street is the Lakewood Cultural Center and 5 blocks north is the W Line RTD to downtown. The Denver Performing Arts Center is a favorite spot, and I used to play piano across from the Buell when that restaurant was called the Theater Cafe.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister Kathy is deserving of credit here as she is part of the reason I am filling this out. She is already featured in a column of yours.
