Meet Hector R Miranda | Owner/creative director of HRMstyle.com

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hector R Miranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hector R, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Grow through, what you go through!” I went through a hard stage in my life from being homeless at a young age, being kicked out of my home because of my sexual preferences , living in the street, not having anyone to run to for advice or fall back on , there’s a lot more we don’t talk about in public, Anyways, all of those experiences made me the man I am today and lead me to where I am in life now.
I‘ve learned to leave the past in the past and Grow from those events. I know I don’t have anyone to fall back on so I can’t fuck up. I also know what is like to be homeless and never want to go back there ever again so I just keep working trying to make my way to the top! I don’t know how far away the top is but all I know is that it moves me further away from the past and I don’t have time or energy to think that far back anymore.
Do what you want and love what you do. You don’t have to understand why you love something. You just love it. Just Grow to be a better you

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It began on March 2020 when I woke up to the news of pandemic and my job at Lanvin paris had furloughed us.Suddenly Reality hit and I realized I only had $50 to my name. I panic because not only I had to take care of my self but my 2 dogs needed to eat too. Of course like any fur dad would do , I spent more than half of the $50 on dog food and left me only with 12 dollars for my self .
On my way home from the pet shop i started to panic and then noticed there was a shop called CH Martin in downtown Jersey city on Newark Ave, besides the pet store ,it was the only business that was open during the pandemic . I peeked through their window and something clicked. I decided to go in and I bought 4 solid color t-shirt. Rushed home and I pulled out all of my sharpies, markers, bleach , touch up paint for the walls in my apt and left over vinyl I had from previous projects . I also watched many YouTube videos about sewing machines and took the time and learned my sewing machine. Once self- taught I started making my reconstructing and making on t-shirt. I took a risk and made it public on Instagram and sold them for $50 a shirt! they sold in less than 24 hours , I now had made $200. With the $200 I started to build a small start up in hoping to build an empire! I learn that when your source of finances and stability has been taken away from you and its trying to bring you back to that place you are trying to forget and you’re left with nothing else to lose, your adrenaline kicks in and your survivor mode comes to play, you’ll find out more about what’s you’re capeable of doing.
