We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindi Madsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cindi, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Over the past few years, we’ve seen how tumultuous and stressful life can be. And during those times, I think it’s more important than ever to have a book you can escape into and know that there will be a happy ever after at the end.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write romantic comedies across a few genres and age ranges. It took a lot of years of rejection (back then a lot of it was via mail). But there was something in me that couldn’t let go of telling my stories. So each time I’d get another idea for a book, I’d tell myself it might be the one, and that the only way to find out was to keep going. The main thing I’ve learned was how to take and give constructive criticism and use that to up the level of my writing and storytelling. I’d like them to know that if they enjoy funny romances with awkward heroines (of which I have plenty of inspiration-lol) to give one of my books a try.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Garden of the Gods, the Rabbit Hole, Javaloto for the best gelato in the city, and of course a trip or two to the local bookstores.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I made a lot of connections early in my writing career, and along with a wealth of information, I’ve found friends who are there for plot chats, life chats, and every thing in between.
