We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Pack Jessica Samuels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily Pack, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting your own business is no easy task. You have to be ready to work harder than you have ever worked before. We knew that going into starting a self employed career as a content creator would be dependent on how much effort we could and still do put in. I think the process is best describes as blood, sweat, and tears. I will say once you are doing something you are so passionate about, even though you are working 10 times harder, it suddenly all feels worth it. We are still growing, learning, and pushing ourselves everyday.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My partner Jess and I decided to spend 3 years, saving all of our money, and setting a goal to leave our home behind and take the risk to turn travel into a business. We got rid of our house, bought an RV and hit the road to start our big adventure. I think I can speak for both of us when I say our proudest accomplishment is conquering the fear to take a risk. The path getting to where we are today had many obstacles and still does. We experienced every bump in the road you could imagine and learned how to just roll with the punches. Keeping a positive mindset sounds so cliche but honestly if it wasn’t for our ability to keep moving forward with our heads up, we wouldn’t have made it. Our content allows people to see parts of the world that a lot of people wouldn’t get to see or have even heard about. We let people into our lives and relationship. We are honest and vulnerable, but people resonate with that. We want to show people the world from our eyes and encourage them to chase their dreams. I’ll end by saying this… one of my favorite things I tell people is to do something that scares them. It’s exhilarating and therapeutic no matter what it is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our favorite place we have been in Colorado is a little town called Silverton. This town gives us a sense of peace and home with a population of less than 600 people. It almost takes you back 100 years ago and makes you feel like you’re in a different era. Right outside of Silverton is our favorite part of the San Juan National Forest. If you want to feel like you are actually in heaven, this is the place to see!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Jess and I would watch our favorite Youtube travel couples every week like clockwork. Every single time we finished a video we felt even more inspired than the last. It took us a long time to get to where we are today but I can honestly say if it wasn’t for Kara and Nate, Eamon and Bec, and The Van Wives sharing their own journeys through Youtube, we would have never thought we could do something like this. We are so inspired by so many others but these 3 couples will never even know the change they made in our lives. Youtube and Social media is a powerful place to find inspiration for anything.
