Meet Mj” Mary Chambers | Certified nurse midwife (CNM)

We had the good fortune of connecting with “Mj” Mary Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi “Mj” Mary, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Just Call the Midwife is a prenatal health education platform has been was born out of the need offer pregnant women in the Denver market and beyond reliable prenatal health education at a time when health care providers are critically understaffed and patient access to safe reliable medical educational services and patient care is at an all time low. The pandemic continues to reek havic on the healthcare workforce in the US, A recent report by Definitive Healthcare, illustrated the gravidy of the healthcare provider shortage. They reported that 333,942 healthcare providers that have left the medical field in 2021 including 117,000 physician, 53,295 nurse practitioners (NP), 22,704 physician assistants (PA). Now, consider that it takes 10 years to train an physician and 4-6 years to train an NP, PA or CNM
Just Call the Midwife video content has been introduced on the social media platform TikToK with over half a million views in less than 60 days with all of the viral videos are of me answering questions I get as a nurse-midwife when I was on-call at the hospital or during our prenatal visits with patients. There is clearly a need for this type of information in the healthcare market place.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Denver Medical Concierges offers basic primary care & women’s health services but has had to pivot several times to meet changing market conditions. We served our Denver community by providing over 1000 covid tests when families were exposed, sick, trying to travel during the pandemic.
Now, we are excited to be getting back to normal and being able to serve women in a confidential, convenient and personable way. We are overjoyed with the launch of “Just Call the Midwife” our prenatal health educations platform. I have dedicated my entire healthcare career to serving women through their pregnancy, birth and immediate postpartum period and am so excited about the opportunity to serve this population on a more scalable platform.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person that I would like to recognize in this process is my mother. She has always been my greatest cheerleader in every situation. I can think of the weekends that she would drive to CU Boulder to come and sit in Norlin Library with me on her Saturday afternoon to help me find articles that I needed for my research papers as a pre-med student. She is the person that has been there to help me with challenges, encourage when I have new ideas, and always supports by business ventures. My previous business was created after my son Tyler was born and was formally launched on his 1st birthday. She was the dedicated grandmother that would drive from southern Colorado to come up to help with our 3 young boys as we worked diligently to create a health and wellness expo planning company and was there to celebrate our wins like securing Janus Capital as our 1st and longest standing client. This company was in business for 9 years until the COVID 19 pandemic. My mother was once again become my biggest cheerleader as I started a new business 12/12/2019.
