Meet Lily Wyn | Pregnancy loss advocate & kinesiologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lily Wyn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lily, what matters most to you?
Authenticity is huge for me. In this digital age where so many of us are growing online, I think we have a unique opportunity to create authentic connections online and change the way social media is viewed. It doesn’t have to be this curated feed full of perfection. Instead, I strive for honesty and show more of real life. It’s why I documented the process of my ectopic pregnancy in real-time… showing up in the hard, not just the pretty and happy. In the hopes of bringing awareness to all that goes on emotionally with loss and helping others have more compassion for the loss mommas in their own lives.
I think without authenticity, we lack true connection. I don’t follow people who only show the good anymore so, why should I expect anyone to want any less from me? We have the power to really change the world, make each other feel less alone, and provide solidarity and hope to one another through being authentic and that’s what I strive for every day.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I was going through my miscarriage and subsequent ectopic pregnancy, I realized just how alone I felt. I knew so few women who had walked the same road and found stories of hope for pregnancy after loss almost impossible. I searched and searched for women with stories like mine and finally decided that if I couldn’t find it, I would create it. My online community seeks to provide solidarity and hope for life after pregnancy loss. To bring awareness to something so incredibly difficult that is often swept under the rug or dismissed for not being “real” grief.
Sharing my own story in real time was vulnerable to the max but I’ve found time and time again that sharing my story makes others feel less alone. I receive messages every day from women seeking some hope after losing a fallopian tube as I did, or who need advice for walking through pregnancy after loss. It is a great honor to journey with fellow women as they navigate life after loss. I’ve ugly cried on Instagram more times than I can count and shared stories that I’d probably blush to tell in person, all in the name of solidarity, and, my goodness…it has been so worth it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been going to the Rio Grande restaurant (literally) since before I was born! My parents have been going for 30 years! So Marg from Rio is always a go-to! I am located in Northern Colorado so some of my other favorite local spots are Social, Ginger and Baker, Wiley Roots Brewry, and the Welsh Rabbit. I also love to take friends for a good hike and a day of skiing in Breckenridge, depending on the season.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve had some of the sweetest mentors in life;, who showed me what it means to be vulnerable, who pushed me to grow, who walked the road of loss before me and provided advice and solidarity, and who encourage(d) me to become who I am today. So It would be a miss to not shout out the following women…
Stephanie S. -For teaching me how to be a woman in business who treats others with dignity, respect, and kindness.
Marie T. -For her mentorship in business but also her solidarity in life. For being the one who I cried to so much during my losses and for her sound advice as I navigated it all.
Dana W.- For teaching me to stop apologizing for who I am and for walking through pregnancy after loss alongside me.
Megan Z. – For being the most bad a** dance professor a girl could ask for and for being the ultimate example of how to love others well.
I also have the biggest team of cheerleaders at home; my husband, Jared, and our sweet rainbow baby boy, Brecken. I am who I am because I get to love you.
