We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Adeux-Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caroline, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
To better describe my success it is tempting to say it is actually due to a combination of life choices and experiences that were clearly meant to be after all! It all happens for a reason, right? But when choosing one it would have to be a sentence a former boss once said to me “do everything with kindness and grace”. I work with a wide range of couples and families that challenge me in the most fun ways possible as no two weddings are the same. Planning a wedding can have its hurdles and less glamorous aspects and the way we handle this as professionals is arguably the most important part of our business and exactly why our couples hire us and need us. I always joke (but seriously…) that I am using my mental health background after all. Calling the delivery of services I am proud of given the different visions, preferences, couples and vendors “rewarding” would be an understatement!

What should our readers know about your business?
My company is La Vie Adeux, a wedding and event planning business based in Telluride and servicing the Vail & Roaring Fork Valleys (in addition to Telluride of course) in Colorado. I am originally from France and my company name is a play on my maiden name “Adeux”, meaning “together”; it kind seems like this was meant to be! If I had to summarize what sets me apart it would be 3 things. First, I got to where I am by working in the event industry for the last 10 years (Beaver Creel Weddings, Four Seasons Vail, Hotel Jerome in Aspen), learning everything I know first hand (ok maybe a few additional things were acquired through curve balls that I was taught to handle with kindness and grace- thank you mentors because that’s the ultimate lesson turned best tool). This is huge when working with venues, vendors and clients! This also allowed me to grow a network of amazing local professionals which is like a little concierge black book.
The second thing would have to be my French background. I truly believe this has been a big part of my design & planning style as it allows me to guide people in an elegant yet simple & organically beautiful style, always taking sustainability into consideration. I am not one to avoid hard conversations but have also learned to be more tactful than your average blunt French person; happy mediums, right?
The third would have to be making each event as unique as possible. Couples have such fun personal touches to bring and do not always know how to incorporate them. I proudly give them enough stress relief and support to make sure we include all of these whether it is their dog as a ring bearer, bringing a local artist to live paint the ceremony, hiring a cigar roller with custom branded bands, taking the gondola to the top of a mountain for private vows and first dances, planning a sunrise photoshoot as their formal portraits or even building our venue in the middle of a field for mountain top garden party reception!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hopefully if my best friend was visiting I talked her into the summer season! During the summer I absolutely love the Arkansas & Colorado rivers, mountain biking the Vail Valley and hiking/mushroom hunting in Telluride. This past season was insane for mushrooms! After all these activities, the Penny Hot Springs in Marble would be my next stop! Colorado has so much to offer and I am so happy to call what I do work, sometimes even blending the two like the “adventure wedding” I did at the Atla Lakes Observatory (holy logistics but beautiful views!).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My story would not be the same without the amazing mentorships I have had the pleasure to experience over the years. From former bosses & coworkers to the lovely wedding vendor community I am surrounded by, I am grateful for everything I learned and applied to my wedding planning business. Let’s not forget about my husband who is so supportive of my adventure with La Vie Adeux!
