We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Tipton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
All of my habits I developed from a young age. I grew up on a sod farm in Calhan Colorado, a small town 35 miles east of Colorado Springs. My work ethic I learned from my father who was the hardest working man that I know, I also learned all of my people skills from my father, he could make friends with anyone that he ran into. My kind heart I get from both of my parents and my goal driven spirit comes from all of my family. I think that it is very important to have a good work ethic and be a good steward of your time, something I think is desperately lacking in today’s world. It is another reason that I am so passionate about our youth group, we try to bring back that leadership mindset all while making disciples to spread biblical truth and really have a heart for our Lord. It is my passion to spread God’s word and I owe everything that I have to Jesus Christ for blessing me with such amazing gifts.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Adam Tipton, I’m the founder of Street Smart Christian. Street Smart Christian is a ministry that focuses on spreading the gospel to those who may not understand what it is all about, we focus on relationship and not religion at SSC. I was raised knowing who Jesus was but wasn’t raised in a Church community so there wasn’t a lot of fellowship with like minded Christians. The Bible seemed impossible to understand. After high school I found myself getting into trouble with alcohol and going to jail a couple of times, I knew something had to change. In 2017 I walked into Living Word Community Church and that’s when it all started for me, I was on fire for the Lord and I knew I wanted to work with guys like me and more importantly the youth. I started SSC as just a social media page and then got the idea for the podcast after meeting my friend Kevin, the youth group was always a passion of mine so I finally got it put together in 2022. We call the youth group the Street Squad! and meet every Wednesday night. Besides the podcast we are constantly trying to put out Christian content that we call street races and bible break downs, we try to explain scripture to people who find the bible overwhelming and don’t understand it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to my favorite camping and fishing spot Taylor reservoir, it’s just on the other side of cottonwood pass. It is the most beautiful place to visit with tons of things to see and do!

Also I would recommend to anyone to take a drive around the places I grew up in eastern Colorado, just taking a drive down some of these old back roads  can be just as breathtaking as the most beautiful places in the mountains. The small town atmosphere is just what you need to set your mind right. It doesn’t get much more beautiful than Colorado so really anywhere you go you can’t beat. Friendly faces and inviting smiles in all of the small towns you come across along the way are just what a person needs when they get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, My wife Kaley Tipton, Daughters Bailey & Ella Tipton, My Family, Living Word Community Church, My Church family, My Pastor Rick Cofer and his wife Cheryl, my brother in Christ Kevin Mestas! Everyone who has supported me and my ministry thank you so much! If it wasn’t for all of those closest to me I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now, I am truly blessed to be in the community that I am and surrounded by so many good people.
