We had the good fortune of connecting with Bob West and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bob, how does your business help the community?
If you google, for example Autism. You will get back over 518 million links. Even if you narrow your search to be just Colorado Springs, you still get over 2 million. That is just not helpful. if you go to other organizations they put a few organizations links on their site. We want to make sure families know all of the resources out there. We know that not every provider is a good fit, but if you don’t know the options you may miss out on some opportunities for your family member to really thrive. We also want the site to be a community, everyone who uses the site can also write reviews of the resources to share with other families their experience with that organization. and there are links to share with us organizations we may not know about yet.
We also want people to know this is all available for free, no signups or cost just go to our website needproject.org and click on the local resources link.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our goal at Need Project is to see families thrive. Our mission: Healthy families and healthy children through the creation of practical resources and support for parents of special needs.
We are working to accomplish this mission through several projects.
Our local resource database is where you can search a comprehensive database of organizations, ministries, and services available in your local community so you can understand your options and make the best choices for you and your family.
Through a grant, we have been able to update the number of organizations to over four hundred. We have also updated the website to be very user-friendly allowing for map, vicinity, and category searches, to find what you need.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is always a good place to visit.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our Resource database project was made possible by a grant from Disabling Barriers.
