We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Robertson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It’s funny you mention that I was actually staring into my closet picking out a t-shirt and I thought to myself “I can do better than this.”

So, I told the Mrs. I’m going to start a t-shirt company, and she laughed, but I did it!

Threat Llama was my call sign in the Navy! I was out on the crew serve range while in the field. My razor broke the day before, so I was growing my facial hair out (I could only grow a neckbeard). The line coach at the time saw the neckbeard and said I resembled a Llama. At the time, I was shooting the M240B, so he laughed and called me “threat llama.” It became my call sign in the military, so I thought it would be awesome to tie it to my brand!
I just wanted to make hardcore graphic designs based on the military, gaming, and pop-culture!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Where do I even start…

Growing up I was always obsessed with playing video games with my older brother and friends (this will tie in later)

I worked at a gym for a couple of years before I enlisted in the U.S. Navy, I saw a lot of brands that service members would wear that I thought were cool, but it wasn’t necessarily my style. I still wore some of that clothing, but after talking with the guys for a couple of years I figured I would give it a shot and try to make something the troops or really anyone would be interested in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots are in the mountains, I would have to show them Estes park, and the Red Rocks Amphitheater just so they could see how awesome colorado is. Also, a staple in this state is green chili, so I would need to educate my friends on that delicious delicacy.

I think it would also be important to show them downtown Denver, every time one of my buddies comes into town I have to show them the city!

They always say our city is very clean, which I find that statement shocking honestly…But hey, do your thing Denver! haha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give my wife a huge shoutout for supporting me in this journey, and my friends and family! When I was first starting they all would buy pretty much every design I made (They didn’t have to) that being said I really appreciated it and I am beyond grateful to have them in my corner.

Another amazing group of people I would like to mention are the owners and Operators of a brand known as “Industry Threadworks” they help me with any questions I have, and they really look out for their people and make sure I am doing what is best for me and my brand. My support system is amazing, and I am so fortunate to have them all by my side.
