We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheina Lopes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My business started out as a blog with the intention to motivate females who long for a community of loyal women who are telling them they can still dream and accomplish what they set out to achieve. That turned into my passion to help the community through coaching.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a certified health and life coach with a niche in helping females. Life with Sheina came to fruition shortly after starting my blog. Throughout the blog, my passion for motivating the female community became the bigger picture of wanting to do this full time. I wanted to be a resource in a community where resources for women who are lacking confidence but have a vision is scarce. Everyone needs a cheerleader in their corner who is not only embracing their vision and goals but showing them how capable they are to do it on their own! That is when I went after my life coaching certification while still working my 9-5 corporate job. When I studied life coaching I also coupled in a health coaching certification because anyone who is focused on trying to better the physical attributes to their life should also connect how that relates to their health. They go hand in hand. There are 3 core values of coaching with me and that is Embrace, Enable, and Empower. Through each of these values, she will see the other side of making her life and her goal a reality. Building a brand and getting it off the ground is tough. There is surely a learning curve for someone who is venturing into the entrepreneurial space which is very new for me. The biggest hurdle for me is attracting the right client. Not every client will be a match and that’s ok!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Start with coffee at Legends, it’s the cutest little coffee shop locally owned in Southlands and they have the best oat milk matcha’s. I am a huge fan of Red Rocks for their quiet yet stunning scenery. I always find peace there and it’s a representation of Colorado all wrapped in one. Being a fitness junkie, I am always looking for different ways to sweat. I recommend Rush Cycle (come see me Wednesday’s at 6am) and TOS Boxing Gym with DaVarryl Williamson! For dinner, I highly suggest Sushi in Lohi, Sushi Ronin. They have some of the most fresh sushi I’ve had in Colorado and being an island girl, my expectations are high when it comes to sushi. I also love Quality Italian in Cherry Creek for their cocktails and their Chicken Parm.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband! He is an unclaimed Feminist (he doesn’t know it) and a true supporter in all of my ideas. Not with a light pat on the back for accomplishing whatever new venture I am on but truly enabling me to seek my vision and help me to create the reality of it. What I appreciate the most is he not only believes that I can set out to conquer my goals but he believes any woman is capable of ANYTHING they set their mind to. I also attribute my courage to go after coaching because of the message through Glennon Doyle’s book, Untamed. It speaks to any woman who is trying to find a way to exploit her inner voice and be her true authentic self.
