We had the good fortune of connecting with BIGFACEFLEX and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BIGFACEFLEX, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
If you wake up in the morning then you should keep going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is my art. I am BIGFACEFLEX and I don’t try to be anybody else. I am the most proud about the fact that ever since I graduated high school I’ve been consistently releasing music & taking risks to achieve my goals. I just got home from a nationwide tour and I am most excited for the project we recorded entirely on our bus as well as the documentary we are releasing with it. I got to where I am today with a lot of hard work, dedication + trial & error. Hell no it wasn’t easy! Ive had a lot of moments where I want to give up but I just try to think what would 16 year old me think about that? He wouldn’t be having that! He would say get up and go get that shit no matter what. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned a long the way is that nobody is going to do anything for you. If you want something done you gotta get up and make it happen for yourself, aint no time to sit and blame other people for something not happening in your life. I don’t necessarily care what the world knows about me, I just want to inspire anyone that hears my music that you can do whatever you want in life if you put in the work and stay true to who you are.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we talking Columbus, Ohio where I live then I definitely got hella spots for us to go! We hitting my favorite Vietnamese restaurant fa sho (gotta keep the name on the low low lol) we hitting Marcella’s for the fire Italian. We gotta slide to Goodale Station, dope ass rooftop spot downtown w/ fire food and drinks. Vaso also fire rooftop vibe. Definitely gotta slide thru Meshikou for the best ramen + Korean fried chicken. I could go all day but lastly we gotta hit the Good Kitchen for the best soul food in the city! All I really be doin in Columbus is eating so that’s what we would be on lmaoo

Now if we talking Denver I still got spots, just not as many lol. Firstly we gon have to slide on my good people at Eclipse Cannabis Company to pick up some Meraki tops ! Ive been to Denver a few times and they got the best weed by far. I feel like most weed in Denver will be good but usually super dry, theirs is always fresh and always fire! I know that sounds like a paid ad but I swear to god Im so serious lol. Next we sliding to my favorite place in Denver, Ice Cream riot! They make ice cream sandwiches w/ pop tarts and they’re so good its crazy. My two favorite restaurants in Denver are Stoic & Genuine right by Union Station + Jax Fish House and Oyster bar (oysters prolly my favorite food on earth) I jus like to eat man if we hanging out we prolly eating lol

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give my shoutout to my homie Matt Hippenmeyer! Mahippy is not only one of my best friends but he is also the first person I ever recorded with. Matt has been my main producer, engineer, a&r, as well as distributer and he makes my life so much easier. Shoutout my brotha Mahippy! Real life GOAT!
