Meet Andrea Tuck | Owner of Rolling Ritual Coffee

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Tuck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always had the entrepreneur mindset. I started with selling handmade items in 2020. From there I wanted to create something bigger. I wanted to build something that allows for easy community connection, fun, and flexibility. I thought, what is better than bringing something most everyone loves (coffee) directly to them! I love how coffee brings people together and that is what makes me happy. I have worked in the service industry most my life so pairing those skills with my creative mindset I was able to build my coffee trailer. I built Rolling Ritual with the help from my amazing family in 2021 and started operating in 2022!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I actually work full time in Law Enforcement. I run my coffee trailer on the weekends. Starting your own business requires a lot of time and brain power. Reflecting back on the last couple of years I’m proud of learning how to balance both jobs while making sure I give Rolling Ritual Coffee the attention it needs to flourish. The first season I worked my butt off and was working 6 days a week for several months straight.-that’s just part of that small business owner hustle. This year I was able to adjust and have a better work/ life balance.

I’m very proud of the connections I’ve made. I get to set up at the most amazing small businesses around the Denver Metro. Wherever I go, I promote through social media platforms which has typically provided businesses with more clients/guests. In return they typically post about me. It’s a win win for everyone.

The mobile world can be tough. It’s more than just going somewhere and magically opening. It takes waking up extra early to load up and set up then when finished there is breaking down and cleaning up. That alone adds a couple hours of work time to your day. You are dealing with limited space and you always have to plan for the unexpected (pipes breaking, leaks, machine breakdowns, generator breakdowns, etc.) it teaches you how to mold and be flexible and overcome obstacles every day. With all that, the tough days are greatly outweighed by the most amazing days! I get to bring cups of happiness to others which has brought many great conversations and friendships.

One thing about me is I love to support others with a focus on woman owned businesses. My first step in starting up was to find a local woman owned roaster. I was lucky when I found Copper Door Coffee Roasters. It’s woman owned and they source their beans from many woman owned/operated coffee farms around the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop would be my coffee trailer. I can be found through Instagram/ Facebook as I post my location there. Next I would check out Wozani Farm in Frederick. It’s the cutest family run flower farm where you can create your own bouquets and explore their farm. From there I would hop to Old Town Arvada as they have great eats and yummy cocktails at every corner.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I told my dad about my dream and asked if he could help as I wanted to renovate the trailer on my own. Like the amazing person he is he immediately jumped in and helped me build the trailer out. From electricity to plumbing my dad did it all and I got to learn so much along the way. Also, my very talented brother crested my logo and painted a decal on the front of the trailer. My mom provided business insight and other family members encouraged me and offered free help along the way! Today I have the best friends who provide help when I need it. I’m so thankful for my family and friends – couldn’t do it without them.
